Strong Storms in SouthEast- Is everyone Alright?
Hey all-
As all or most of you know there were some huge storms that ripped through MS, TN, AL, GA, etc. last night. I live in Montgomery, Alabama and luckily we only got rain; however, my two younger sisters go to the University of Alabama and live in Tuscaloosa- on McFarland and 15th St. (where the large tornado leveled everything)- They were lucky and live in the only building in the area that was not devastated (Midtown Apartments). I know that there were over a hundred other tornados spotted in result of this storm in many other areas.
Just starting this thread to make sure all of members in the affected areas are o.k. and hopefully not effected by the storms.
Also, please keep everyone who was effected by the storms in your prayers

Yeah my homegirl lives in Alabama and she was telling me parts of Tuscaloosa look like a war zone. Let's keep them all in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm in Chattanooga, we had it pretty bad. We're lucky where our house is, it seems to be sheltered a little from the worst of these kind of storms. We got baseball size hail and damaged vehicles, but that's it. Just a mile or two down the roads in any direction, however, there are houses with trees through them, people out of power for days, a few deaths in our immediate area, etc.
Ringgold, GA is about 15 mins away and it is demolished. The entire town is closed to everyone but emergency personel. Last count I heard was 50+ dead in the viewing area of our news station, which is mostly east TN, NW GA, and the very NE Alabama. I know AL had 190+ deaths including Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, etc.
And the next day, damage and destruction aside, was probably the most beautiful day of the entire year...

Ironically enough, this seems to be the trend. The calm after the storm has become a bit more common from what I have seen.
