Why would any coach forfeit a game because of that? Seems like he could take he hustle as a learning tool to have his/her team play with that much hustle. It's sad that the coach would teach his team to quit if someone is better than them or out hustling them. Skill or not, hustle can defeat talent a lot of times. That sad fact is a lot of youth sports get political and jackwagon parents stick their noses in and ruin the game for the kids. Why in the world would you want to teach you children that they can just walk off if they are getting beat or out hustled? Besides, losing can be a huge motivator to working harder and getting better.
I don't have any kids, but if I did and a coach of their team forfeited a game because of this play I'd have a long talk with him and certainly wouldn't want my child on his teams in the future. Definitely a weak thing to do as a coach and a weak thing to complain about as a parent. They basically complained because an opponent was better than or giving more effort than their kid. I could see if she was playing in the league illegally or was a ringer on the team, but if she's legally in the league I don't see how the president honestly say for her to tone it down. If I was told that I wouldn't follow the order especially if it's a competitive league as it sounds like it is.

Honestly how can you play down to 50%?
Regardless you cannot just quit giving 100% in any walk of life, enough with all this p.i. bull, why should she be punished(and her team) just because she is excellent at softball......I know I am 10 yrs removed from school but when did it change from try you best and work your hardest to be the best....to crap like this??

it sounds like the other coach forfeited because he was worried about any possible injuries with his players. I mean even though you say she didn't do it intentionally she did run into two different players on the field, correct? I mean if a player on the opposing team ran into collided with another player and then knocked down your girl you might be upset and think that player is playing pretty wreckless out there

I get the wreckless possibility for sure. I guess I didn't really think about someone colliding with two different teammates in the same inning. Now that I think about that aspect of it, if it happened on my softball team I guess there would probably be some issue. I guess without seeing the plays for myself it's hard to comment on what reaction I'd have. I guess we really don't know the motive of the opposing coach forfeiting the game either. At this point it still seems odd and maybe the league should have stated to the girl to be more mindful about not running into players rather than dial down the hustle. One can hustle and not be wreckless, if that was their thinking about what happened.

I would go 100%. It's not her fault or her responsability if the others players aren't as good. Does the nba ask lebron or kobe to to at 50%? Heck no and neither should she

Never EVER tell a child to "go at 50%" I'm so mad anyone, especially a league President, would say such a thing.
I would ask the President if she should take the same approach to other aspects of her life. Does the President think she should be getting Cs instead of As if it makes the other children feel smarter? If not, why should she try less in any other aspect of her life, like, say, softball.
Complete balderdash if you ask me.

Video of the game was shown to the president of the league. As she was stealing second she made it a point to run around the 2nd baseman who was clearly obstructing the basepath a runner is entitled to. The slide was clean into third also. The president did confirm that on both instances the defensive player (1st basemen and 3rd baseman were out of position and covering the bag incorrectly.)
If you are the parent of a girl who is there just to twirl her ponytails then in my opinion you should wait until fall time and let them be cheerleaders.

sounds like the other coach instead of complaining should do some coaching and teach his players to stay out of the base path and to cover a bag properly. Sounds like she ran into the other girls because other girls had no idea.
Sounds like she has some serious skills--play at 100 percent and keep being aggressive. If the other girls or parents dont like it, to bad. Get off the couch and go outside and play some ball with their girls.

Totally unfair on the association's part to even suggest that.
I would start looking for another place to play as soon as possible.
Good luck.
