    spurs signings and lose

    the spurs got

"Free agent point guard Anthony Carter signed a two-year contract for the veteran minimum of $1,496,225 with the Spurs on Wednesday, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported. Carter became a free agent after failing to exercise his $4.1 million option with the Heat."

The San Antonio Spurs have re-signed backup center Kevin Willis. The 7-foot Willis played in 71 games for the Spurs last season, averaging 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.8 minutes.

Free agent shooting guard Stephen Jackson will visit with Denver on Thursday, the Denver Post reported. Jackson will fly to Utah on Friday and then meet with Atlanta early next week. agent Dan Fegan said. "Stephen has proven he can knock down big shots. " seems good to me too

Losing Stephen Jackson will hurt the Spurs more than gaining Carter and re-signing Willis.

Jackson did fairly ok vs the Lakers. Carter isn't as athletic, and Willis is just plain too old.

Well it appears to me that Manu Ginobli will be starting unless they want to start Turkoglu. Jackson did good with them but Hedo should replace him just fine if not better. Willis was a worthless signing, they lost out on Alonzo Mourning and Brad Miller if they were even trying for them.

Signing Carter helps ease losing Speedy Claxton to the Warriors(?)

Not that he can do all that much, but he wasn't too bad for the Heat, and should be a decent back-up to Tony Parker.

who cares about jackson, when ginobli is there
and my god are they going to have cap room when they dump smiths contract

they already have plenty of cap room due to Robinson retiring, and were prepared to spend it all on Jason Kidd, until he decided to go for the money and sign back with NJ for about $10M more
