    Mike Bossy Counterfeits

How can i spot a fake Mike Bossy RC? Anything to look for?

Reason I'm asking is , i have about 10 Bossy RC's but one of them that i just purchased on EBAY has a much darker back than the others, is this a sign of a reprint?

Put up a scan of the back of the Dark One and a scan of the back of the others.

The dark one is probably a Topps, they appear more Grey/Dark than the OPC.

Topps will say: Printed in the USA
OPC will say: Printed in Canada

Nah i don't collect Topps. They are all O-pee-chee. I'll put a pic up soon of two of them. But isn't there something too look for like the yellow dot on the Brett Hull RC's?

Just likely one that came earlier in the production run. There are "many" Gretzky RC's that are a lighter shade of blue compared to others. The industry term back in the day, was that the card had a "colour run". Based on it's book value, unlikely that someone would go to great lengths forging a Bossy RC.

He's talking about the card backs.

OPC backs are Beige with wood flecks, Topps are for the most part grey.

They arn't worth a ton now - but you've got to remember that in the early 90s, forging big name RCs was a big thing. May not be worth much now - but that forged Bossy RC is worth about 5 forged Jagr RCs, and 10 forged Federov ones :)

somebody told to scan the OPC logo ...if the logo is not clear this is a Counterfeits because when they scan the card to reprint it the pixels are not as good of the original so the original is full and solid...
i never try it to check it

Even when looking at the colors on the back of the card ( like the signature), all the Bossy's i have are light green, the one i doubt is really a dark green !

I have a few base from the same set.

Mine also has variations of colour, just like yours does. I think it's legit.
