Crosby Suffers Setback, Cancels Skating Practices
http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Canada/201...ussion-110822/
Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby's concussion symptoms have returned, and he may not be ready for the start of the NHL season, sources have told CTV Atlantic.
The Cole Harbour, N.S., native has not played a game since January 5, 2011, after he suffered his second hit to the head in less than a week.
Sources say Crosby's concussion symptoms returned last week and he cancelled all of his scheduled on-ice workouts at a Halifax-area rink.
Penguins players are expected to appear at training camp in mid-September and it appears Crosby will not be one of them.
Pittsburgh coach Dan Bylsma told NHL.com last week that he did not ask Crosby about his health this off-season.
In addition, Penguins general manager Ray Shero did not deny earlier reports that Crosby might not be able to start the season.
I'm going to have a bunch more to say about this in a week or so. I had heard that he's been rotating his venues throughout Halifax so as to avoid large crowds during his rehabilitation process, but this is bad news for the game.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

The League is to blame for this. As a concussion victim, I don't see him ever playing like he did again. That hit by the Capital was criminal. The NHL blew it and now will lose the face of the game. I'm not travelling to Winnipeg to watch the Pens, I'm travelling to watch Crosby.

The hit by the Capital was criminal? The puck is going up ice for an odd man rush and u can see him dip a bit to the left to try to lessen any impact obviously a split second late. The Hedman hit was what did him in

I'm with Steviey on this. The hit by Steckle was less a hit and more Crosby skating into his shoulder, not awar of his surroundings.
The Hedman hit did him in, that wasn't a good one. With that said, He should have sat out a couple more games anyway.
The league is partially to blame, Steckle? Not really. Hedman, partially. Crosby, partially. Penguins staff, partially.

Have you ever played the game at a high level? Steckle knew exaclty what he was doing.
"oh I'll just skate into him here and it'll look like he skated into me and flattent he guy"
Another example
Chara on Pacs
Chara knew exactlywhat he was doing. He watched/chased Pacs for three games before he got him back for a little shove.
Hockey is a contact sport, and whenever a player can get away with is what happens. MEN strive for the big kill, and that's what happened.
But you have to play hockey to understand it. Pond hockley players just don't know the differnce.

Quebec used to be the land of Maurice Richard, now it's more the land of Toller Cranston. They still can't be on Chara's case are they?

Yeah that's pretty sad that the police got involved.
Chara will be settled on the ice, most likely a hit to the knees as no one can take him up high.
That's fine by me. You want to play that game, you're going to pay down the road.
Hockey will never change.

I'm pretty sure that 99.9% of the Montreal players don't even come up to his knees, plus they are all soft as Charmin. It will be like sending the Smurfs off to war.

Let's keep the discussion on track please. We've got many a thread to talk about how great it's going to be to see Max Pacioretty back on the ice this year.

Ditto.
I am not a Crosby fan but this is a huge blow to the league and the Pens.
I hope he recovers. Loosing him is a loss all around
