The Best Hockey City
. It’s Lord Stanley’s home base.
Even before the Canadiens began their history of dominance—before the National Hockey League existed, in fact, the capital of hockey in the world was Montreal. The first team to win the Stanley Cup, the greatest prize in all of team sports, was the Montreal Hockey Club, in 1893. Other teams from the city to hoist the chalice have been the Victorias, the Shamrocks, the Wanderers, the Maroons and, of course, the Canadiens in their famed tricolor sweaters.

While there are team with a lot for them and I can think of Detroit, Montreal does win in most category. The fist ever cup, not the stanly cup. 24 stanley cup and still over 20 % of all stanley cup winner. Now Montreal Canadian also had fan all over Canada like no other Canadian teams has fans. Today it's less then it used to be due to all newer concession but I am prety sure they still probably have more fan all over then any other team in Canada. Where can you never buy a tcket during the season during match day other then scalper, Montreal is always sold out and have a list for potentiel year ticket that some have been waiting for year to be able to buy them. This mean a full house most of the time and that since many years. I think you have to go back in the forties to find some unsold ticket but Maurice Rocket Richard change all this.
These are fact. Now I will not say Montreal fan are better but they are for sure very loud. This is also why most player would vote, ambiance wise for Montreal as they all know Montreal fans are what they are...
But the down side is that Habs fans are sometime a bit pretencious and respect is not always on menu but I guess since we always have a full house, it mean we have more of these type of fans. Listening to the radio show proove are fans can be at time. I call these not fan but more
fan-actic LOL!

We all know the Habs take this one hands down.
But being a little bias, Philly is a great hockey town. During the playoffs, the stadium rumbles and that place is packed with passionate fans. I have yet to experience a better night than being at game 5 in Philly when they clinched going to the Stanley Cup against, oh the Habs :)
