Consult some archives, Ron Wilson has a dismal playoff record. He was an abject failure in San Jose.

Then as a wing's fan you know it takes patience to build a winner. This is the first year since Burke has been here and the first in the past 20 years that the team is actually building through the draft and has a couple of elite players on it's team to form a foundation. The team is playing well and showing signs of getting better. Why can't we just focus on the FACTS and ignore everything else?

I for one don't think that Brian Burke is that great of a GM.

Brian Murray was the man that put all the pieces of the puzzle together in Anaheim before he left, not Burke.

Certainly the Leafs have had some good fortune with a decent start this year, however 22 games into the season does not a season make. I admire the enthusiasm & ambition that Leaf fans have every year, I don't know how they do it.

In Montreal, 7-8 losses in a row calls for a complete overhaul of the franchise as demanded by their fans. Imagine being under that microscope instead of the constant HOPE that all Leaf fans show.

    Beaudreau has a great record

Record doesn't make a coach good or bad

    Yes and it's unhealthy
I mean if you listen to the fans, and do what they say, Montreal would not have Carey price as a netminder

And whine like a school girl with a skinned knee about anything and everything. They should demand some grit and toughness rather than a small roster full of guys who do nothing but swing their purses at the opponent.

haha leafs fans you guys are awesome...wilson is the first leafs coach in history to miss the playoffs 3 years in a row ans still be there for the 4th year....now because they have beat some other non playoff teams early in the year he should have his contract renewed ??? this is what makes you losers so great to make fun of....how they doing against boston this year??? they have the worst goal differencial among playoff teams and have played more games then most teams currently in the top 8.......as for burke having a great history with anahiem...your right i think any trade with the ducks they will likely throw in perry and getzlaf as long as the leafs throw in shenn just because they have such a good history and want to keep him happy :) best case scenario leafs finish 8th and play boston or pittsburgh i'll take the over on that one...worst case scenario they finish 12th but just wait till next year

Have some friends that go to all the local junior games and thus get to know quite a few of the scouts. All just rumours but.....

"Apparently", the magic number to have acquired Ryan was "4". That being the number of players and/or 1st round picks, that Murray wanted for Ryan.

The two top contenders were the Rangers and Flyers and the rumour had the Rangers offering Gaborik as part of a package (Murray had no interest) but instead wanted a package consisting of: Anisimov, Gratchev, Kreider and either a young d-man or a first-round pick. Apparently, too much from the Rangers end.

The Flyers apparently centered their deal around JVR, Voracek and two others(?) The Ducks really liked/wanted Couterier but the Flyers apparently wouldn't include him but rather were willing to add Schenn to the mix. JVR, Schenn, a yound d-man and either another player or pick, was apparently too much for the Flyers as well

As for the Leafs, apparently their offer was as with everything Maple Leafs - a joke. Their apparent package of: Kadri, Bozak and Aulie, didn't get much of a reply. Apparently, Burke also wanted to try and ship Komisarek as part of the deal, with the Ducks sending another prospect back. Nice try.

Just all chit-chat but the Ryan Miller talk was also interesting. From one guy who scouts from the (used to be Norris division) - if Miller gets traded, two top dark-horses - Detroit and Chicago. Imagine Miller on either of those teams.

It would be interesting to see how the Rangers could swing a trade involving a guy (Grachev) who they already traded last year.

The asking price (if true) is too much. If any team does it they'll likely prefer to use more draft picks than players. Can't see anyone offering 4 guys for him unless at least one of them is a stiff just to get to that number.

Ryan Miller won't be cheap either. Kane is from Buffalo and you'd have to think he'd be part of the asking price to the dismay of every cab driver in town. Detroit's draft position every year is so low that you might as well consider their first's as second rounders. Not sure they'd have or be willing to offer what the Sabres would want in return.

My $'s on neither player going anywhere.
