Real or Fake Roy OPC rookie?

So I've been dabbling in hockey again after a break of a couple years... Focusing on vintage, and picking stuff up casually. Well, I came across this OPC Roy rookie card on the bay. The seller listed it with a sketchy picture (from a distance) but I bid on it anyway... it was just so tempting at the price (it ended >$50). A Patrick Roy RC is as big a name as I feel comfortable buying without it being graded, but now that I hold this card in front of me, well, I have some concerns.

    - While the centering isn't perfect, I feel its bordering on "too good to be true" territory.
    - I detect no noticeable corner wear.
    - The coloring, both front and back, seems a little "rich"... the scan seems to wash it out a little. His jersey is fairly red, and his face lacks definition.
    - The seller has lots of feedback, but has been accused of selling a fake Lemieux OPC RC in the past year.
    - And lastly, this little nugget of information was included in the listing; "CARDS HAVE NOT BEEN GRADED OR APPRAISED IN ANY WAY. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL GRADER THERE IS NO GUARANTEE REGARDING VALUE."

Is this a genuine rookie or a fake? I'm not very familiar with vintage cards. Some info, opinions, or resources would be greatly appreciated.

Did I luck out or strike out? (If I need to post better scans I will...)

Easy one... You're a proud owner of a fake roy rc. The color is way to rich, corner and edge are too perfect + the bad seller history. Easy one

Is it the scan or my description that makes you think so? Just curious, since I have to be sure if I'm going to try and get my money back from the seller.

    Thanks for your help though!

Any other opinions? (Sorry if this has been asked ad nauseum)

    That is a definite fake.

One tell tale sign of an authentic Roy OPC RC is that there's a little black dot on the top border above Roy's head. That dot is noticeably absent from your card.

Sorry to hear it, dude, hope you can get a full refund on it.

Ahhh, I knew there would be a tell-tale sign somewhere. Rats!!!

Thanks for the insight. I'll chalk this one up as a leason. Too good to be true.

I predict a fight with the seller though... and unfortunately I think this person knew what they were selling.

Would someone be so kind as to illustrate the missing black dot (as noted above)? If someone has a genuine rookie from their own collection, I could use the tutorial.

I'm assuming this printing discrepancy is similar to the OPC Gretzky rookie shoulder dot?
