Upper deck odds

Hey everyone, I bought a sealed tin of 11-12 ud series 1 last night and was pissed to find all base cards in a 12 pack tin. Odds for ygs are 1:4, a lot of the insets are 1:6 or 1:8. how is it possible that this tin had nothing but base?

Do I have any grounds for contacting upper deck and complaining about this? It's clearly a quality control issue considering the odds. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check the wrap on the tin - was it clear with UD logos stamped on it, or just a plain clear plastic? If the latter, you bought yourself a searched & re-sealed tin. I don't know if UD can do anything for you but you may want to get in touch with the retailer.

As usual it's based on average of all the cards produced for the set. Although I would be very miffed in your spot, UD will likely tell you the same thing. But...it is the season of giving so give them the sticker number on there and maybe they can trace it and you'd get something. Always try..

Thanks for the quick reply. The plastic wrap was clear, i never thought about that at the time. It was purchased from toys r us, you think I have a better chance with them?

warr10r and for everyone - I had mentioned this exact problem in an earlier thread this week. When buying blasters and / or tins, CHECK the wrapping to make sure the Upper Deck white logo is "emblazened" on it.

Probably. If you can keep it localized so much the better. They should give a full refund on the spot for selling a defective product. If they can't help you make sure you have all your receipts and everything from the tin (including the clear packaging) because UD will request it.

In case anyone's interested in seeing how this played out, I was able to go back to toys r us and get an exchange today. Thanks to rgm81 for your help and advice.

I'm going to keep the canvas and the ygs in my pc, the other inserts are for trade if anyone can use them. Pretty happy with the colbourne yg.

Aren's tins like Fat Packs? They insert Young Guns when they feel like it. Lol.
