This is a lesson for all players on why you never give up though. This game will make every player on both teams better.

Wow, still shaking after that game! Excellent effort all around and an incredible effort by our Canadians to try and tie it up. Also a great effort by the Russians in the first two periods.

I know there were some complaints about officiating and personally I only had one. That elbow by Gusev should've been a game misconduct based on previous incidents. Kassian in the WJC (either last year or year before) and Weber at the WC were similar incidents.

Nothing beats this tournament IMO. These are kids who actually play with intensity and passion. Watching many of the NHL players play with half the effort is just not the same.

Congrats to Russia on the victory, and I'm extremely proud of the Canadian team for not giving in when several other people gave up on them.

+1 emotions get the best of us (especially me). That and the "high stick" at the start of game

Well, if you count the goals that hit Canadians skaters before they went in it'd be 7-3

I live in the usa and really dont care who wins just want to see fios hockey but after the way the canadiens fans were booing the usa against the czechs and singing hey hey goodbye when the usa was eliminated the game tonight made me chuckle. These are a bunch of teenagers giving it there all and to get treated that way was totally classless if you ask me

I was really impressed with how our boys came back to score 4 in the 3rd. It was really unexpected, this is what happens all the times when there's a Canada vs Russia game. If only Jordan Eberle was there ;)

Like I said last year karma is a b!!ch. oh but booing the candian anthem at the winter classic wasnt classless?
put 15,000 people in a building, booing happens, doesnt speak for the whole country.
    karma?
at least we made the second round?

as for the game, those of you applauding canada, and saying good effort?
we played 1 period, thats not effort, effort is 60 minutes of good hockey, we didnt do that(neither did russia, but they played for 40 minutes, we played for 20 minutes.

russia has better hockey program, and players than canada right now, we have to admit that.

Well, I guess this had to come up eventually. (I'm probably going to sound self-righteous, but I didn't join in during the booing of the Americans during the Edmonton games)

Is it classless and unnecessary? Yes. However, Americans booed the Canadian national anthem during the Winter Classic, so it's not entirely fair to single out Canada as being classless. Is it "payback"? Who knows, but it's not the right response.

My point is, every country has idiots. Canada has idiots, USA has idiots, Russia has idiots, Iceland has idiots, etc. To say that Canada lost because of karma isn't exactly warranted.
