Beckett Online Price Guides
Do any of you guys use the Beckett online price guides, I currently do and my subscription is about to run out and I am trying to decide if it is worth the extra money to continue the online price guide service or to just save money and get the monthly price guide delivered for like $12 less. What do you guys think, do cards change enough in price where the online service is nescessary or is it just better off to get the monthly subscription in your opinion...

I use it for free. It's a hassle because you have to look up one card at a time. But like I said it's free.

Card values dont move enough. IMO. I buy beckett every two or three months and use the look up any card for free on-line if I need to.. You can look up as many as you want as long as you take the time to re-enter the info every time for that player.
The players I collect dont have that much following to make the market for thier cards jump to often. Plus 75% of my collection is vintage and that pretty much stays the same all the time.

I use it solely to check back and forth, mine expires on the 31st and am not going to renew it either, plus those guides are useless, because sets the prices IMO anyway, except for trade value and I am not interested in trading that much unless I am trying to build a set. I think buying a book every now and then is the best best, it will save money and that's what I will probably do, plus if there is a card(s) that you need to find a price on quickly someone else will usually have it.

Qball -- I've been using the Beckett online price guide for free.
The one disadvantage -- you gotta search one card at a time, then start the entire process over. Takes a long time if you're looking to price a bunch of cards.
But, it's free :o)
Also, if you go to your local flea market, you could probably get recent Becketts for $2 or less.

I've used it numerous times to post book values when trading on this website. It's expensive but it's a great source of info if you plan on buying or selling alot.

I don't think prices move enough to justify a subscription unless you like reading the articles. I just buy the latest issue at the local 7-Eleven when I need one. I haven't subscribed online either. You don't really need to with the free single card pricing they have. It is time consuming though.

I agree. I just go on for free to look up the prices, as well.
