Please do explain how the Canucks are pansies?
Should they run around like idiots like the Bruins. Yes, that is surely how we want our sport to develop. Back to the archaic days where we see nothing but a bunch guys brawling all over the ice.
I have nothing against that, but that is in the past. Our game has developed where skill and smart hockey plays are key focuses.
Simply put, if the Bruins or whatever team wants to play that way. Go right ahead. Gooning it up is certainly not what the Canucks do. They have the Sedin philosphy and the team isn't half bad following it these couple years.
They are playing two completely different games. If it was two gooning teams playing each other and one backs out ... then yes, those are "pansies." The Canucks are certainly not a gooning team.
...
As for Luongo.
Does he deserve the criticism, probably not.
But then again, I am really tired of him, fish flopping all over the ice.
Nor, am I a fan of his inconsistent play.
As far as I am concerned, I want the goalie that gives the team the best chance to win.
And in Vancouver, Luongo is not. Schneider is.
You have to be a fool not see that. The only reason why he would stay is the idiotic contract the Canucks signed him to.
Luongo has been trending downwards and Schneider going up.Last edited by Yipper; 05-31-2012 at 04:41 AM.

You do know what "assume" does, right.
I can read. I may not be a member of Mensa like youself, but I did understand...big wurds and all hyuk hyuk
I said "I love this", as that is the exact sentiment that is echoed by a large majority of Canucks fans. I wasnt attacking you in any way shape or form. I was merely pointing out that their problems run WAY deeper than they want to admit, and it's humorous that they reduce themselves to a bunch of 5 year olds pointing fingers. You say 'nucks fans don't blame or dislike luongo, well I havent heard that from one yet.
Also you seem to know what the scoop is when you stated "Here's what has happened". I think you should be calling head office. Hockey operations could use a guy that knows exactly what happened, because thay sure dont. Of course there is an outside chance that this might just be your opinion and infact you are not the ultimate authority on the state of affairs in Canucksland and others may just have an opinion of their own which unfortunately might differ from yours.
So now you can put on your smoking jacket and grab your pipe and have a wonderful day while you are moving on.

Yip , playing with heart is not gooning it up. I dont see any desire when I watch the canucks. that's the problem. Instead of taking the hit, they wouldn't even go into the corner. They would have got the call...well maybe , officiating has been a bit sketchy this year too. They lost berfore the series started.

This sounds eerily similar to elements of another team's fan base. Singling out the goalie is a hobby for some people. The circumstances and the numbers don't always matter, it's just "team lost, must be the goalie's fault."
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Singling out the goalie is the approach of the fan that misunderstands the game.
Hence my opening comment. I still think that Canuck fans blame Luongo. They don't act like that toward the orange twins.

Wow. You must be a real hit at parties.
Of course it's my opinion...who else's would it be? From now on just assume everything I say is my opinion. If it's fact, I'll point it out. But since 90% of conversation is opinion, I don't feel the need to qualify every sentence just for your benefit.

I have to estimate about up to around 30% of a team's fanbase are idiots, so the larger the fanbase....
Also, in Canada, the media at times of these situations are nothing better than paparazzi as they can be like vultures waiting for a scoop.
I do recall a small amount of Vancouver 'fans' that seem to greatly dislike Luongo from previous mentions and reports and would blame him for anything under the sun that goes wrong. There are rabid fans, and there are complete idiots that are supposed fans that think they know enough about the game.
With the problem of these types of idiotic 'fans', what does it make a perspective UFA think about the team and city? Some players have deliberately avoided that and play in one of the sunbelt teams as a result.
About overpaid players, thank the player agents for that and I can think of two specific ones offhand... and they could possibly affect the next CBA...

"Run around like a bunch of idiots like the Bruins" lmaof!!! The Bruins have the best 5 on 5 team in the league because they have incredible talent aka 2, yes 2 # 1 lines, pick your poison, Seguin and Marchand centred by one of the best 2 way forwards in the game, Bergeron, or Krejci, Lucic, and previously Horton before he got concussed.
After both of their skilled and classy playmakers careers where put in jeopordy by head hunters, unfortunately, Savvy's has ended :(... thankfully Bergeron was able to make a successful come back.
The Bears saw the writing on the wall a long time ago and it started when they picked up Chara, and got bigger with Milan and co...so that no one dares run around like an Idiot and take cheap shots and their skilled players...plus they added more skill with Peverly, Ryder, Pouliot, and Chris Kelly, they had way way more scoring depth than the Canucks!!
Sure Marchand is a bit of a wild man, but at 5' 9" props to him for still playing with grit while adding even more speed and scoring punch.
At the end of the day, the Bruins stayed out of the box, by Not running around like idiots, thus elimitated a lot of the Sedin's effectiveness and simply outclassed the Canucks 5 on 5, and the rest of the league for that matter.
Now we are witnessing the Kings do that exact same thing! Just as coach Sutter was asked, How can you win the Stanley cup with such a lousy powerplay percentage? Answer. There arn't very many penalties in the playoffs so the team with the best players wins the Cup, and in the Bruin's case, the huge majority of those best players are Canadian born players, most in the league.
We are now watching the Kings do the very same thing this year.
Now watch the Bruins sign Big Rick Nash and bring yet another big Canadian player into the fold, Dougie Hamilton! Yikes!!
You can look for a goalie as your saviour all you want, but its not going to help against a team built to win. Instead of blaming a world classs goalie like Luongo, maybe one should tip their cap to the Bruin's visionary GM, Peter Chiarelli.
Peace out.

Then you have the media reporting that these fans are "THE" fans and speak for all of the team's fanbase. Not to mention those who don't follow the team and take everything CBC says as gospel.
