You think this about Alex Smith?

You guys think he'll bounce back in a year or two when the 49ers get some protection.. or do you guys just think he's a dud? I've debated collecting cards of him, but I don't know.. he just doesn't look like pro material. He reminds me of a Tim Couch, only worse.. (and im from kentucky!)

It's way too early to tell but concerning that he still doesn't have a touchdown pass. I don't care how bad the Niners o-line is that's pathetic. He's not the most promising young quarterback I've seen but McNabb struggled when he first came in the league, as did many other good qb's.

I think the 49ers should have gone with Braylon Edwards in the draft. They stink it up, get the #1 pick, and take Matt Leinart. But now they are stuck with Alex Smith and may not get the #1 pick in 2006.

I do think he will be a bust because he doesn't have the necessary ability to be an elite quarterback. The team will improve around him....question is will he study the game and improve during the offseason?
