We are launching the new trade manager next Monday, July the 23rd
I just finish coding the new SCF Trade Manager. For many years there has been lots of demand for new features and I always wanted to take the time to write this application from scratch to make things more obvious and secure. This will make trading on SCF much easier.
Here is a demo explaining the new system (you will need flash installed to view).
Demo: https://www.sportscardforum.com/demo/...e_manager.html
The new trade manager has a new interface and is located in the inventory storefront section. Currently, you can use either the new version or the old trade manger. Next Monday, July the 23rd, the old trade manager will be with the upgraded version. The User CP links will then be changed to point to the new trade manager and so will the navigation buttons. Also the old link will automatically be redirect to the new trade manager and will remain valid. The profile section (recent trades) will not change, but will bring you to the new trade manager.
Now to post a trade, you will have tow option. The deault option is what most of us always used mainly post a trade in the old trade manager style with a box I will send and I will receive. You put what ever you want it in and then post the trade after completing the two step required and it done the same way we use to do this one.
The other option to post a trade is that you can build the I will send and I will receive list using our master card database and you don;t even need to use the inventory to build a trade list. This option is not creating a trade. This is more like a pre trade step where you can add and remove cards as you work a deal via PM and it's easy to copy the updated list after adding and removing cards. Then when you have the other agree to the trade list you can use it to create a trade. I suggest you check the demo up there in this post to view it in action. But that should not be the way when you want to post a trade in the begining, start with the default old trade manager option to post the trade and just play with the other option and see if it made for you to use. I know many inventory will love this feature since you can add and remove all cards outgoing or incoming in one action so very helpfull. But it can be use just to build trade list and thes can be deleted if not posted into the trade manager. So the defualt option should be the way to go until you understand how the second option work. Then you can decide if this second option is made for you to use or not.
Here a list of the new features:
- MSF advance handling of any possible scenario (new MSF, permanent MSF).
- Member rating with star rank and color corresponding to the badge colors and the percentage of feedback after the user name.
- MSF badge shows up only if a member is required to send first (see explanation below).
- Sending condition: a text that clearly explains if someone needs to mail first no matter what the scenario is.
- Added confirmed date. Per rule Section 7.02, only one feedback may be left between members sending multiple items on the same calendar day.
- Feedback now has its own row and you can see if you or the other member has left feedback or not. Green with a link to feedback or red if not left. This only appears if a trade is confirmed or else it will say N/A.
- Members can view their trade list and trades on the same page. The current trade will be highlighted in bold red color in the list.
- New inventory tracking tool is available to a build list of cards in and out prior to creating a trade.
- The inventory tracking tool list can be used to post the trade and later remove or add cards in one action for those using the inventory.
- The inventory tracking tool lets you add BV even if you do not want to add cards in the inventory. You can add remove cards all you want.
- The inventory tracking tool has a printing page for easy copy and paste to a PM for submitting offers.
- More feature will be added as we think of them along the way. So suggestions are welcomed.
The inventory tracking tool
This new tool can be used by any member regardless if you use the inventory system or not. You can build a trade list or you can browse someone's inventory and build a list of cards you want from the other member. You do not need to have the card in the inventory to use it and you can add and remove cards as much as you want. So this can help when working a trade before posting it to maintain what you and the other wants. If the list of cards is accepted on both sides, then just post the trade from that list directly in the trade manager. Then once the trade is confirmed bu both members, you can add and remove cards in a batch at the push of a button. If you are both using the inventory the images of the cards are transferred to the new inventory after the trade is completed.
The MSF new feature explained and the sending condition new row added:
A lot of new information is now available in this new Trade Manager so members will see the feedback and rating of a member and see if the person is a Must Send First or not. This will actually clarify things a lot. The badges are applied along with the feedback star rating, color and the percentage of positive feedback. Members will have the maximum information when creating a trade.
For those interesting in how the MSF system computes ...
There are 4 levels to handle MSF:
3 = permanent MSF user group: This user group is applied manually by dispute staff to warn member that this member needs to send first all the time.
2 = new member MSF: mainly 0 to 19 positive feedback Must Send First with regular members.
1 = new member but with transfered feedback from a other site so they bypass the MSF requirement for new member and are like regular member with 20+ positive feedback and not required to send first at all.
0 = regular member with 20+ positive feedback and not required to send first at all.
So a member level 3 dealing with a other level 3 send at the same time
-A member level 3 dealing with a other level 2 , the member at level 3 send first.
-A member level 2 dealing with a other level 1 or level zero send first.
But this confuse member so much that the new trade manager will manage these and put badge only if a member is required to send first, here images of the new TM to explain it.
level 0 vs level 0 regular transaction where both send at the same time or pay first when payment is involved.

Level 0 vs level 1 - Note here that testchl has transfered feedback so no tag is applied since he his never required to send first like member with 20 + feedbacks but since under 20 positive we do write the transfered feedback to show why he is not MSF and the message explain it as well.

Level 0 vs level 3 this is the tag attach to the permanant MSF usergroup that we already use and apply on forum posting profile.

Level 2 vs level 0 this is the new member MSF tag I want to add along side the rookie tag.

Level 2 vs level 2

Level 3 vs level 2 The permanent user group send first and only one tag will show to remove any confusion on who must send first even if testing is a new member MSF But the message state so.

Level 3 vs level 3 no tag and become like tow regular members conditions.

In the end, a blue message no tag, no one is required to send first. If a message is red you will always have only ONE tag for the required member to send first only even when we have two MSF but not on the same level.
Also there is a line that displays who left feedback. Green text means the person left YOU feedback and you will have a link to the feedback. Red text means the person has not left you feedback.
Due to rule 7.02 that states members can't leave feedback for multiple transactions on the same calendar day with the same trader, the system will not allow multiple feedback. For example, if you buy five cards from a seller, the first card you buy will let you both leave feedback. The other made on the same day will have the feedback option blocked.
We hope you will like it and you can start using it as of today. The version is live already. If you have any suggestion or bug to report, please post in my Inventory/Storefront Feedback that I check on a regular basis.
Thank you and enjoy this new trade manager.Last edited by CoolHandLuke; 07-20-2012 at 08:16 PM.

I just changed the skin of the Inventory, Strorefront and Trade Manager section. Added many new links CC total and now each page as the exact same header and footer and redid all the color to be much closer to what the forum now look. Menu is different but I will reorganise it when I am sure we will stop playing with them on the forum.

Thank you so much for all the hard work.
I have one question. All of my cards are listed as PC because there is not a way to have one as trade and one as PC. When I do a trade I'm assuming that the card I trade will either disappear or have a quanity (Qty) of zero in my PC. Is this correct? Thank you for your time...Rick

Looks great. Thanks!
If we don't have anything in our inventory, will the new trade manager still work?

Yes now you will have two option post like we did when selecting the old trade manager option. By default it is selected on this when you open the post new trade, then in step two you get the two boxes where you write manually what you would send and receive from the other trader. Mainly the trade manager is very similar but now has the list and the trade page all on one page and added information and link we never had.
Then there a option that is NOT creating a trade but let you work trade list on both side and this can be deleted at anytime or you may use it to post a trade with the card selected on each send, what you aend and what you receive. This feature does not require that you actually add cards in the inventory. It just use the card database to let you select any card in and out. But if you do use the inventory, then it will help you tag the card out or incoming. This is called
Inventory Tracking Tool
But you do not need to be a inventory user, all member can use it to work a trade not yet posted. in that section let's say a trade fail you can delete the entry. But if you post it from the section then a trade can't be deleted. Just a addition for those who like more advance tool to work trades. You need to try it to understand how helpfull it can be when manhy cards are involve in a trade. Also using card entry for the database, eliminate possiblee confusion on what card you are sending. So just a new option and member don't even need to use the inventory to use this feature.Last edited by CoolHandLuke; 07-21-2012 at 12:56 PM.

I just took the old trade manager off line and all old link ofrmat simply redirect it to the new trade manager in the context of the link requested. So your member profile recent trade list and the user cp link all bring you to the new trade manager. Hope you like it and it very similar to the old one but with more information and a new way to use the SCF iinventory to build trade list prior to post a trade. But when posting a trade, The deafult trade type should always be your choice to post a trade.
