We get it just fine. You think a gun makes you free. Just as a billionaire thinks access to money makes them free. In fact, you are both chained to your individual albatrosses. The gun owner is owned by paranoia and fear, as much as the billionaire is owned by his fear of losing his wealth.

im lost on that one...
i own a gun and it has nothing to do with paranoia...i just like shooting stuff...
i would much rather have a gun and kill someone who is trying to injure or do something worse to my children than sit there and do nothing because i want to say no to guns...
not sure what you mean about REAL FREEDOM....but i will say that unless you have fought for your country or fought for your rights...then you my friend have no idea how great you have it...or know how to appreciate REAL FREEDOM

I do not need you, my friend, to lecture me on how great I have it. I know how much better I have it than most and I know what real freedom is. There hasn't been a single military engagement in my lifetime or yours that required anyone to "fight for our rights", so you can stop with the jingoistic language that means absolutely nothing to someone that knows what's happening in the world.
You may own a gun for whatever reason you like. Veggie has repeatedly stated his reasons for owning one. I was referring to HIS reasons which are very similar to many on here who continually defend their right to own them. And that reason is paranoia plain and simple.
