Now Mayor Bloomberg is going after new mothers who want to use baby formula
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...hospitals.html
Mayor Bloomberg has demanded that hospitals stop handing out baby formula to persuade more new mothers to breastfeed their babies.
The New York City health department will monitor the number of formula bottles being given out and demand a medical reason for each one.
From September 3, 27 out of 40 hospitals in the city have agreed to the terms of the Latch On initiative - which will also see them stop handing out free bags of formula and bottles.
Although mothers who want to bottle feed their babies will not be denied formula, it will be kept under lock and key similar to medications.
However any mother who requests formula will be given a lecture on why breastfeeding is better by hospital staff.
'Human breast milk is best for babies and mothers,' said health commissioner Thomas Farley when the campaign was launched in May.
'With this initiative the New York City health community is joining together to support mothers who choose to breastfeed.'

I don't care what any reports say, this is not always true. our oldest was fed with formula, the twins with breast milk. our oldest was determined to be a gifted child, she was an academic athlete, and honor graduate, the twins were not.

He is just another in a long line of liberals who think the government knows better how you should live your life than you do.

Nope, sorry. You don't see conservatives promoting social programs that are aimed at raising people's kids or dictating how people raise their kids.
I can't think of the name of it right now, but there is actually an education program being pushed that is aimed at pre pre-k...literally trying to get you to drop your kid off at a government run school if they are between the ages of 1 and 4. There are people in the system that truly believe that the best place for your kid is in their care. You may be a great parent, but you simply can not provide your child with what it needs like the government can.

How is that telling people how to raise their kids?
Teaching teens not to have sex = forcing hospitals to justify giving out formula and bottles to new mothers...not quite.

Teaching kids about the dangers of reckless sex is a good thing. Teaching kids to be ignorant of sex is not a good thing.
