Rookie Class Sets
Hi All,
I am relatively new in the hobby (only little over a year or so),, but I recently came across Upper Deck's rookie class set (per year). I have seen some cards here and there (always singles) before but I never knew they came in a box set for $10 or less. I think the cards look pretty good but I wanted to hear some opinions of what you guys think. I did buy the 05/06 set (sick rookie class so thought it would be cool to have in the collection). I obviously do not believe these are all true rookie cards, but if for some strange reason they are please let me know (its good to know info about whats in the collection haha).
thanks in advance, i look forward to hearing some opinions on this.
Joe

They are not considered RC's.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I liked the 05-06 set (not just for the talent level)
design quality went down after that
I don't consider them true rookie cards

They're not true RCs, but they are cool. They're great if you just want to look back at rookie crops of different years. The oversized cards can be easy to sell sometimes, depending who is it is.
Overall, I like them.

Hmmm didn't know these existed but would be perfect for a collector like me who prefers large quantities of cheap cards compared to high end ones.
I'm starting to design my own customs mainly for retired players plus some prospects but this would make it easier although rookie cards often don't feature jnr stats properly which is annoying. Do they still make this set and does anyone have info on it? Does it feature guys like Landeskog, RNH, Larsson etc as well?

thanks for you opinions on it guys!
sportfruend - i dont know if they still make new versions of this set but you can still get older ones easily and for cheap (compared to what your getting i think its steal), the quality and designs are awesome (in my opinion).

Looks like 08/09 is the last yr for these after doing an eBay search.
I guess now you can still put together a cheap rookie base set by getting Victory rookie cards on eBay.

I bought the 07/08 one for $20 and still don't regret it :)

In 08-09 they added autographed content to the set: https://www.sportscardforum.com/scf/inv/viewset/35721
Not every player has one but they're incredibly tough to find because it's such an ignored product by most collectors.
