    So military is the job of central government, but FEMA isn't.

    In other words, the government's job is to kill others and not help its own.


    I'm glad I live in Canada.

    As a US citizen, this made me laugh and cry simultaneously.

    I agree with the idea of a FEMA-type organization. Contracting that work out, though, would probably cut down on the waste and fraud.

    I wouldn't have a problem with the fed gov't contracting out certian duties just like they already do but since we are all live in the US and most of us pay taxes it is ultimately our gov't and they must help us in our time of need. If the gov't is not helping it's citizens to be successful then what good are they?

    This is already done quite a bit. FEMA uses several contractors to do a lot of their work
