Times are a'changing.....HUGE night for Gay marriage and Marijuana!
As a progressive, This was probably the best news of the night after Obama's victory.
Gay marriage has been legalized in Maine and Maryland (becoming the first two states in the HISTORY of the U.S to have voters agree with it), It could also pass in Washington where it was leading after 50% of the vote was counted.
Meanwhile, Recreational Marijuana has FINALLY become legal!
Colorado and Washington became the first two states to do so yesterday.

Lastly, Tammy Baldwin makes history as well, becoming the FIRST ever openly gay senator in the U.S!

I'm very proud to be an American today, I'm finally seeing change and progress.
Let's keep this up!

I am very proud. This is another step for personal freedoms and equality. Congrats to the voters for making it happen as well to our President and Ms. Baldwin.

That could very well happen sooner rather than later if the GOP works with the president. If not the republicans will be voted out of office and people willing to work with him will be voted in.

It will be very interesting to see how Oregon and Colorado move forward with the passing of legalizing marijuana. Surely there are still some hurdles federally that they will have to overcome. I'm not a pot smoker but think it can be controlled similar to alcohol.
as far as the states adding gay marriage, I love it. Slowly but surely people are realizing same sex couple should have rights. It's a slow process but at least it's moving in the right direction. I still don't think it should be up for a popular vote and they should just have the same rights as heterosexual couples.

Bingo!
Marijuana should be legal at the federal level and you tax the hell out of it!
Stop arresting people for smoking a plant that is LESS harmful than tobacco!
Watch as the money rolls in into the economy from these guys.
As for gay marriage, it's the RIGHT thing to do, and should also give a nice boost to the local economies.

Oregon said no to marijuana. Colorado and Washington said yes. Hopefully this is step one in the federal government calling pot a state matter, though I doubt it. The effects on my neighboring province of BC will be very interesting as WA is a HUGE market for BC pot.Last edited by Wickabee; 11-07-2012 at 12:11 PM.
