wickabee and boba, i guess you could throw wax or paint in their eyes, but it might be easier to just leave or evade.
if you can't do either of those, perhaps some seizing, off balancing methods, or even a well placed black would be better.

the issue is with situations like this you do not know the whole story, was he talking smack and got hit? was there others there that would have jumped in if he did do something?

being punched in the face usually doesn't kill or maim, but a strike to the eye can blind, to the ear can deafen, and if you fall down from it, you can be injured in numerous ways.

perhaps the most important lesson here is being overlooked, nobody has the right to you without consent (and no, criminals gave up that right so the po po doesn't count) who is teaching him and her this is ok by doing nothing?

never, in a dispute with a woman, admit defeat and run the other way, hitting a woman will cause you problems for a long time. even if your only trying to restrain her, the witness's perception could kill your reputation forever.

if a girl gives a guy a black eye, people will probably laugh about it and he can expect some rousing from his buddies. If a guy gives a girl a black eye, totally different, good luck to him.

I strongly believe a man shouldn't hit a women, with that said, I'd tell him to get her off him or stop her in other ways besides hitting her. If his life was seriously in danger though, I'd tell him do whatever he has to do.

It really depends on the situation. A man should never hit a woman first. Ever. That being said, I've personally seen it where a girl thought she could do whatever she wanted and just started talking crazy, worked herself up, and proceeded to punch and kick at a guy for honestly no reason at all. Needless to say, she was knocked out. I have zero issue with the latter.

I totally agree with the last two posts. Also we teach our sons never to hit a woman but why is it that we never teach our daughters never to hit a man unless she wants to get her backside kicked? Respect is a two way street. How the hell can you want someone to respect you by not them not putting their hands on you but you feel that since your are a female you can put your hands on whoever you like without reprocussions?
