Wink CASE BREAK - 2012 Upper Deck All-Time Greats Sports Edition

Had nothing better to do on a Tuesday afternoon, so popped by my LCS to see if he had any ITG History of Hockey left. He had just sold the last of his stock, but I hung around for a bit anyway...

I asked if he had any of the All-Time Greats stuff, and he said he had a sealed 3-tin case, but was looking to sell as a case, not individual tins. So I said, why not...

    Tin 1:
    Joe Sakic base /99
    Larry Bird base /99
    Jerry Rice Silver parallel /35
Joe Sakic Personal Touch Signatures 4/5

Very nice looking cards. Thought it quite interesting that my top base card was the same player as the auto in the tin... (hint, hint)

    Tin 2:
    Bobby Orr Blue parallel /10
    Hulk Hogan Copper parallel /65
    Wayne Gretzky base /99
Bobby Orr Athletes of the Century patch/auto booklet 18/35

Wow. Sweet looking Orr auto. First one I have ever pulled as well...

    Tin 3:
Bobby Orr base /99 (hmm, interesting. wonder if the trend will continue...)
    Mario Lemiuex Copper parallel /65
    Kelly Slater Silver parallel /35
Bobby Orr Shining Moments Signatures 10/30

Double Wow! This was a hockey collector's case for sure! 5 of the 9 base cards were Hockey players, and all 3 autos!

    Random thoughts...
    - The photos on the cards are ones I don't recall having seen before on trading cards. Very unique.
    - The parallels also have different photos from the base.
    - all hockey cards I pulled used Team Canada photos/references

Oh, and how about some photos...

Cheaper than a tin of The Cup... It's all about the stars in this one though, not the rookies...

You did really well. The only thing that I don't like about products like these is that they make tons of high-end players and lower the value, especially in Orr's case as it seems like he has double everyone's else.

Also the top base 99% of the time matches the auto. I think I've only seen one that wasn't like that (Michael Jordan Base and a Pete Rose auto or something).

Nonetheless, great looking product, great pulls! Congrats!
