Lockout Over - Saves the 2012-13 Card Season?

NHL hockey starts up in 9-13 days. We don't know yet if it will be a 48- or 50-game season, but one thing is for sure: it's going to be a major injection of life into the 2012-13 card season. With a rookie crop so far only consisting of hold-overs, there hasn't been a ton of enthusiasm for the rookie-heavy products. The card makers have done what they can to inject value & interest by relying on the (locked out) veterans to carry products.

So now that there's a season, here's some things we can look forward to:

    * A loaded checklist of Young Guns in UD2
    * Possible rookie debuts of the top prospects from the 2012 NHL Draft Class
    * Players who have been on the cusp of breaking through the AHL ceiling getting a crack at the NHL
    * Artifacts redemption rookies will be fulfilled
    * The Certified and UD1 redemption rookies will be fulfilled

And of course much, much more.

The guys at Panini and Upper Deck are going to be very busy in the next few months. They're going to have to race to get the top guys' cards produced and signed. But I'm sure they'll enjoy it greatly.

So, with the lockout over, what are you most looking forward to in hockey cards?
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

    Same here!

I'm picturing it a lot like 10-11 series 2 and is going to go up quite a bit in price after release.
