The CBC always does a phenomenal job at putting together their opening montages. In addition to the great montages, I love that the CBC talks reminds the audience about the history and memories of the game unlike TSN or Sportsnet. Even when the NHL awards were held in Toronto and CBC still had the broadcasting rights, Dick Irvin was always a great speaker who would share great stories from the NHL from many decades past. And while I wasn't around for the '70s and prior, as a fan of the game I appreciate hearing about the history of the game almost as much as I like hearing about the current things going on.
This was another great feature they did about a half hour before the opening montage on Saturday night.
