Took them a long time to finally get around to this. I suspected it would happen when we saw the price increases on January 27th.

They are bleeding cash, I heard 25 million per day (this sounds ludicrous), but by shutting down Saturday delivery, they save millions each week.

They are going to have to hire more mail sorters for a busy Monday now, as Saturdays are often big delivery days in the USA, especially around Holidays and special occasions like Mother's Day, Valentines Day, etc.

I wonder if they've considered adding Saturday back when the holidays roll around......especially around Christmas
Sorry, I only use PayPal goods and I do not ship internationally.

Good move for the USPS. I also always thought that they should also subcontract more of the workload to Fed Ex and the UPS. Mabey one day you will be able to walk into a post office and ship from UPS or Fed Ex in addition to using priority mail. I know that you can do such at the UPS store, why not the post office? I also would love to be able to recieve UPS and Fed Ex packages at my PO Box.

The USPS is now going to hire more employees at what is called a tier 2 employee. In other words they will not have union coverage, some benefits and no retirement other than what they put in.So by cutting Saturday they are going to save a proposed 2 billion and with these new hires they are saving even more.Thye are buying out the old and moving in the new at a cheaper rate.

They have to do that. Their unfunded pension liabilities are so high they're almost comical.

The new rates are rough for my Ebay sales as i try not to overcharge or undercharge for shipping.Has it hurt your trading or sales Alex?

I'm guessing shipping 100 base cards to Canada is now going to cost around $16.00, when it used to cost $6.00. I'm afraid to take a box over to the PO just to find out, as I don't have a decent scale here.

I sell 85% of my Hockey Cards to Canada and I am soon to be dead in the water.

Things are getting tough.I sell card lots constantly and the rise in shipping is killing it.I am selling low end lots to begin with the shipping is costing more than the lots.
