    Friday- Sunday
    September 13-15, 2013
San Diego Padres at Atlanta Braves.

The San Diego Padres were our best team last year getting a then record 28 signatures in one day last year. this left Sam much fewer cards to get signed this year so we knocked out a few other things as well. Here is a summary of the weekend instead of my usual day by day recap. Everyone was gotten inside during Batting practice.

Tom Layne ( 1/1) 2013 Topps Rookie Card
Chase Headley (1/1, 1/1) 8x11 photo and 2013 Heritage leader card. One on Friday and one on Saturday
    Ian Kennedy ( 1/1, 1/1, 1/1) 2013 Bowman, 2012 Topps Wins Leader card, 2012 A&G
Alexi Amarista (sp?) (2/2) Bowman Chrome Rookie Card (2011?) someone gave them to Sam as he had nothing for him.
Will Venable ( 1/1) 2013 Topps as he signed everting else for Sam last year.
Hustin Street (1/1) 8X11- He pressed so hard on it that it doesnt look that good. Oh well
    Bud Black ( 1/1, 2/2) '84 Fleer, 2x '09 Topps
    Kyle Blanks (1/1) 2012 Topps
Luke Gregerson (1/1) 2011 Topps Black parallel (walmart?)
    Nick Hundley (4/4) 2011 Topps, 2x 2009 Topps, 2012 Topps
    Andrew Cashner (1/1, 1/1) 2012, 2011 Topps
    Mark Kotsay (1/1) 2012 Topps
Yonder Alonso ( 1/1, 0/1) 2013 A & G, told sam no on a second later as he had already signed for him
Rich Renteria (1/1) 1993 Marlins Publix set
    Logan Forsythe ( 1/1) 2013 Heritage
    Tim Stauffer ( 2/2) 2012 Topps, 2010 Topps

We also hit the Sunday Alumni Signing for the Braves:
Phil Niekro (5/7) 1977 Wins Leader card, 87 or 88 Fleer with Don Sutton of 300 winners ( already signed by Sutton), 1974 Topps ( he signed it in black, oh well), 87 Topps, 84 Donruss
Gene Garber (1/1, 1/1)- 1983 Topps veteran card, anotehr card for a friend
Bruce Benedict (1/1, 1/0) 87 Topps for us, 81 Fleer for a friend

Don Sutton ( 3/3 2/2, 1/1)- Got a few 50/50 for two people on this board, 5 cards and an 8X10. If I finsihed yours, You should get a message from me soon saying it went out.

    Monday Sept 23 2013
    Milwaukee Brewers at Braves
    Turner Field

    All in inside:

Norichika Aoki (1/2) 2012 Topps Rookie
    Aramis Ramierez (1/7) 2009 Topps
    Jonathan Lucroy (1/2) 2012 Topps
    Carlos Gomez (5/5) 2009 UD 1st edition, 2009 2010 2011 2012 Topps
Juan Francisco ( 3/3) 2010 International League set, 2010 Topps Rookie, 2012 Topps. This was a nice surprise as he never signed for us as a Brave
    Dale Murphy (2/4) '87 Donruss. '90 Donruss
Fredi Gonzalez (1/1) 2012 Topps Team Card

All in all a good day especially with the Gomez, but we really wanted Segura.

    Wedensday Sept 25, 2013
    Milwaukee Brewers at Atlanta
    Turner Field

Rain all day led us to figure batting practice wouldn't happen but Jason Heyward had tweeted last night that he would sign during bp today so Sam really wanted to get there in time. I got stuck a work and our friend in crime couldn't go, so Sam hoofed it over by foot and got there late. But it was ok as the Braves did not have bp and Jason Heyward didn't sign.

    So Sam went and got..

    Aoki ( 1/1) 2013 Topps
Younesky Betancourt (1/5)2013 Topps Brewer card

And then: Jean Segura (1/1) 2013 All Star ball. A big score and our goal was met , but then the night got better. I was driving over to the stadium from work to get Sam and I was listening to the pregame which I rarely do. They mentioned that Billy Wagner was on his way over to the booth and I texted Sam to let him know that Wagner was there. Score!!!!!
Billy Wagner (2/2): ROMLB Sweet spot 422 Saves Inscription, ROMLB Sweet spot no inscription. Billy has a book out and is doing some book signing here for a few days, but this was much easier. His signature is amazing.

So as we wind down the regular season, this was a nice series for a team that has lost most of its luster and some crappy weather. We plan on hitting 2 or 3 of the last four Phillies games coming up.

    Thursday Oct 4, 2013
    LA Dodgers at Atlanta Braves
    NLDS Game 1

Sam got outside pregame and really got very little. He was aiming for Cal Ripken Jr and whatever else came his way. Dodgers mostly took the bus so there was nothing going on there as the bus drives too far in to graph.

He went to the Media side and waited for Cal....Up walks Tommy Lasorda. He commented on how polite Atlanta fans were after Sam asked "Mr Lasorda, would you please sign?" In California they shove balls in his face and yell Sign Sign he said. Always nice to hear that your son is being perceived as being polite.

Tommy Lasorda ( 1/1) ROMLB sweet spot

Inside: No Dodgers are signing, which is odd as they are usually very nice here. Perhaps it is first game of the playoffs jitters. Sam is with a bunch of people trying to get Puig. Not sure he is worth the effort as MAGIC JOHNSON is there too. Hellooo!!!

After doing a string of tv interviews, Magic goes int eh stands and signs away, two friends of Sam's get him on Sweet Spots and Sam is not moving. I finally ask him why isn't he trying for Magic, and he kinda shrugs and heads over to his section. Luckily the security guard that is in charge of the area likes Sam because Sam is polite and doesn't cause problems. The guard helps Sam get Magic's attention and he welcomes Sam over.
Magic Johnson (1/1)- SI cover reprint with Matt Kemp. Guess who we are trying for today to finish this out.

We have a report from the Phillies we will post over the weekend, and if the season goes as last night goes I guess we will have our baseball top ten list next week.

Been a crazy off season so far.
This past Tuesday we attended a signing by Dikembe Mutombo for Adidas. Mutombo signed all three 8X11's and 6 cards. He also took a great photo with Sam that we hope to get signed someday.

On Saturday we attended a Brandon Beachy Signing. We got 3 Gwinnett Braves bobbleheads signed ( one is for a friend). A NLDS program cover signed, 1 2012 Bowman, 1 2012 A & G , 1 Topps Archive and 9 2013 A &G . He just kept signing them. Nice guy we talked for a long time.

Last week we attended the Knicks at Atlanta Hawks. Sam was really chasing Carmelo Anthony but that was to no avail. He did however get 2 cards signed by Amare Stoudemire, 2 by JR smith and 2 by Andrea Bargnani. He also got ont he reccomendation of an older fan, a ball signed by HOFer Walt Frazier. I am pretty psyched for that.

The previous Sunday Sam tried the Atlanta Falcons post game. He did pretty well, we dont do Football cards but he got these Bobble heads signed:
    Matt Ryan
    Thomas Decoud
    Sean Weatherspoon
    Tony Gonzalez.

He also got a Ryan jersey signed, a Tony G 8X11 personalized to Sam and Team logo sheet witha bunch of players that I am sure he doesn't even recognize.

Finally, This past Wednesday and Thursday we have been serving coffee on the set of Fast and Furious 7. We were able to meet and get autographs from:
Dwayne the Rock Johnson: SS Baseball, Group Shot From Fast & Furious 5, Tooth Fairy Screen shot signed to his Sister. Picture with for each of the kids. I must say here there is not a nicer celebrity anywhere. I was not necessarily a big fan but he treated my kids so well.
Paul Walker Group Shot of Fast and Furious 5, Picture with Sam that he signed the next day. If it wasn't for how nice the Rock was, this man would be the nicest/coolest celebrity. An extremely nice guy.
Vin Diesel- Group shot from FF5. Good guy

Then there is Tyrese Gibson. A real piece of work. Had a fit and had Sam thrown off set despite having permission for him to be there. Jerk. Complained that Sam had a picture for him to sign. ™™™? Whatever,, his jerkiness while dissappointing did not ruin how nice the others were.

So much quality lately! I've only heard great things about The Rock. Glad you had a solid experience.

Is he as big in person as he's been looking in recent movies?
