Report shows....Religion among Americans hits record low.

In the 1930s and 1940s the number of Americans who identified themselves as "non-religious" was about 5%

In 1990 that number was 8%

In 2013 that number is 20% (Some studies have it higher, but let's be conservative about this)

But when you break down the becomes quite interesting, but not too shocking:

    >Men are more likely to be non-religious at 24%......compared to women at 16%

    >More than one-third of 18-24 year olds claimed non-religious, compared to 75 year olds or older which is at 7%

    >Liberals are at 40% non-religious.

    >Conservatives are at 9% non-religious.

    >Whites are at 21% non-religious.....compared to African-Americans who are at 17%.

The facts do not lie, America is become less and less religious at a very quick pace.

BTW, 20% is not low at all...that's over 60 Million Americans!

And again, some studies do have this number as high as 32% (Gallup)

We simply have had it with religion.

I am not understanding your point. Could you please explain because I do not understand? I am not being sarcastic. I really want to know.
Easy. I try to see both sides of the issue. I implied it might be a reason yes. You seem to have taken that implication as an outright statement. It wasn't.
Alex fervently denied it as preposterous, making outright statements. You showed up (no idea why). Then it was now. Then I don't know what happened.
It's all kind of right there.

alex, you realize nearly all people who "kill" themselves don't do it because of rational behavior? depression is the #1 cause and depression is a form of illness. you believe in human evolution but think a human killing themselves is normal?

my best friend committed suicide when he was 23 and for you to say that his is business shows your lack of understanding suicide. suicide effects everyone who cares about you, it has been almost 25 years now and I still get sad thinking about it.

porn, dating sites, cheating sites, facebook, you can buy anything from around the world.

People who used to have money problems stuck it out and worked things out because it was tough to find someone after a divorce. Now if they are in their 40's or 50's it's easy to find someone online.

that seems logical, I did some checking an dit seems it has skyrocketed in the last 20 years, so you have a great point

    alex, I found this

    No religious affiliation. Researchers
have estimated that individuals who report belonging to some religious group
have a somewhat lower chance of divorce than those who say they have no
religious affiliation.74 And if couples share the same religious affiliation, their
chances of divorce are even lower.75

    also found this

Christian charitable organizations rank highest in terms of using donor money toward charitable projects and services, according to a recent Forbes study.
