    Cyprus and the EU Dream

Now the government is confiscating money directly from citizens to keep the zombie banks afloat. Hitler doesn't seem to care for it.

My fiancee lived in Cyprus for four months. A very divided country that has stretched themselves way beyond their means.

The EU has bailed out other countries, but it must not have been enough. This is the first time they've required confiscation of citizen bank accounts as part of the terms for a bailout.

The problem with debt is that it doesn't go away by taking on even more debt. You have to either pay it off with surplus or default.

It looks like the politicians are getting cold feet and the vote may fail. (Apparently the Russian mob has a lot of money in Cyprus banks. Perhaps a few of the politicians were reminded of this fact?)
