All that's left amongst the living Frick recipients are Jon Miller, Tony Kubek, and Tim McCarver.

Sweet mail day! It's been slow but have a few batches that were sent out recently. Colangelo is the 3rd of 6 to come back from the 12/23 batch.

After sending a few requests last Wednesday, I got 3 back in today's mail: Phil Niekro, Bob Pettitt, and Carol Blazejowski. I had first mailed to Niekro nearly a year ago to get him on a card...then I decided I wanted everyone on 8x10s instead.

Of 235 requests sent in the mail in 2013, I got 152 back so far. A large majority of my 8x10s have come back.

Meanwhile, today I sent a book to George Vecsey and an 8x10 to Pete Rose. I'll be sending out to quite a few 2013 draft picks tomorrow when my recent photo order arrives.

The Phil Niekro success looks good. He did a nice job on the placement of the signature.

On a related note, I remember collecting cards as a kid. Flipping through my cards, I always thought Niekro seemed like the oldest man on the planet.

Thanks--it certainly helped that there was a lot of background space. He was 48 when he retired!

My MiLB 8x10s and Just Commons baseball cards came in today's mail so I'm one step closer to being ready for Spring Training.

The big bummer news is that Andrew Albers is reportedly heading to Korea for the 2014 season so I may have to scratch that envelope altogether. The 10x13 could be salvageable but I would have to do a good job at covering up the address--could always use that for a Basketball HOFer until my 9x12 envelope order arrives from Amazon.
