2013 Draw Muhammad Day.
In celebration of draw Muhammad day.

Here in the U.S we have the freedom to draw and poke fun at whatever we feel like.....let's not forget that.

So...annual be a jerk to prove a point to people who won't listen no matter what you say?
Sounds like a waste of time and energy, but what "day" isn't these days.

^Be a jerk?
How?
A group of highly insecure people start doing a bunch of nonsense over some silly pictures.....if we do nothing and cower in fear, they'll have accomplished their goal.
Back in 2010, the first draw Muhammad day was announced....in support of freedom of speech.
If a backwards, outdated, insane group of people want to attack others for a few silly pictures....OK, then try to attack the WHOLE world.
This has actually been a pretty successful event.

On this regard I give Christians (ALL christians) a LOT of credit.
At the very least they have advanced just a little bit better than their Muslim counterparts.
I've never seen a christian get mad over a Jesus cartoon.

Be a jerk because there's no real reason.
If you genuinely want to draw the guy, go ahead. Make a cartoon about his first day of work at a law firm for all I care.
A day to just draw him for no reason is stupid. It's no different from, say, killing an animal on film because it's "free speech". The overall outcome may be different, but the principle is the same.
Also, and just out of curiosity, what sparked this particular "day"?

^Not sure if you remember or not, but the reason this started was because a Danish comic drew a picture of Mohammad and the "Mohammad fan club" went absolutely NUTS!
Over 200 people died in subsequent protests by highly insecure people who took offense at silly cartoons.
Then South Park did an episode where they depicted Mohammad in a bear costume and Comedy Central got DEATH and BOMB threats!
That's absolutely nonsense, the good people of the internet had just about enough of this BS by the "Religion of Peace" and decided to take matters into their own hands.
The result?
"Draw Mohammad Day"....every May 20th.
And as a huge advocate of freedom of speech, I'm more than happy to celebrate it.

Hey, freedom of speech includes freedom to be a jerk.
Just because they're jerks doesn't mean you have to be one too. Fighting fire with fire is really just stooping to their level of idiocy.

^This is where we will eternally disagree.
And that's fine.
Everyone has their methods and beliefs.
Also....we might be jerks or not, but we certainly wouldn't kill other people because we get offended by things like cartoons.
Fighting fire with fire would be having the same protests they had and killing muslims....we didn't do that, we found a peaceful way of counteracting their nonsense.Last edited by JustAlex; 05-20-2013 at 10:50 PM.
