I would probably wait judging from other sales. Hagelin sold for $208, and he sells pretty well. Ben Scrivens, has a decent following being a Leaf, sold for $90. And Scheifele sold for $340, who is more collected than Connolly and is on the Jets.

I honestly think the Connolly Laundry Tag would be lucky to hit $200, the buyer likely overpaid for it relative to what someone could probably get it for. He's on Tampa and played most of the year in the AHL, neither of those factors help his value despite him being a high pick.

But it is a rare card and with not many others going around, the seller sets the price

This. I think you could get one this summer for $200.

The ones that sell for more tend to be the guys who have true rc's /99, like Scheif. Makes sense considering that the top patches of these guys (which a pc person could view as an alternative to the tag /5) can go 1000+ while even the nicest BC is $300 max.

You probably could get one at a lower price, its just a matter of if one will actually show up at all. If I had the money and he was my PC guy I would pay what the seller is asking. It is a Cup RC tag auto /5 after all, there aren't really any better rookie cards out there (except the 1/1 but you'd be holding your breath for a long time waiting for that one).

I wouldn't take the chance. There's only 5 in the world, and if you are a serious collector, $50 more doesnt sound that bad.

I would say do it. I can testify to how rare these things are, I have searched several different card sites, plus eBay, every day since the release trying to find a Lander. And so far, no luck. It is the only non-1/1 of Lander I don't have, and I am wondering if I will ever find it.

Well since you collect Connolly and it is /5 i would pull the trigger.
Sure he spent most of the year in the AHL but as a player collector it is worth it.
I paid about $240 for mine when The Cup was first released and they do not come around that often.

Don't hold your breath too long as this was the only black rainbow i acquired from 11-12 the Cup.
