Maple Leafs not done dealing
The Toronto Maple Leafs acquisition Sunday of goaltender Jonathan Bernier from the Los Angeles Kings could be the first of several moves by the club this summer.
TSN's Darren Dreger reported Leafs GM Dave Nonis could be busy on the trade front this week, because he’s “eager” to add a young center and top-four defenseman.

If acquiring a top 4 defenceman means trading Phaneuf to do it, I'm all for it! Not that I don't like Phaneuf, but he is over used on TO and becomes a liability. Franson and Gardiner should be top pairing, then having Phaneuf on the second pairing would highlight his strengths rather then expose his weaknesses but for some reason the leafs see the need to play him 25+ a night.
I can see the leafs dealing with Edmonton again, especially now with Eakins and his experience with the Leafs. Maybe a package involving Reimer going one way and Gagner coming the other Although the Leafs dealing Reimer before seeing what they have in Bernier could be a foolish risk. Phaneuf is from Sherwood park so maybe him coming this way for a Paarjarvi type could be possible, Liles to Edmonton might also make sense with Whitney gone. With Franson, Gardiner, Fraser, Phaneuf, Gunnarson, Reilly, liles, I don't see the need to crowd the blue line even more when your gonna need a centre man if Bozak departs.
