i was definitely shocked when i heard about the trade as i was watching the draft. I am really excited to see how Corey does in NJ. I guess that means moose will be experiencing some sort of transition. I loved watching moose play these past years in NJ. Rarely do i miss a devils game, so i've seen his all.
Even coming from a Devils fan here (2nd fav team), the canucks should have gotten a bit more for Corey. Lou must have a way with words.WANT: ROOKIE YEAR & JERSEY NUMBERED cards of Aho + Zetterberg + Kovalchuk + Datsyuk + Kopitar + Nash + Spezza + Zibanejad + F. Forsberg + Teravainen + Barkov + Huberdeau + Mantha + MORE

Rumor has it Gillis isn't exactly in charge lately, that ownership didn't want to pay to buy out Luongo's contract and forced Gillis' hand with regards to Schneider......
IMO, the trade wasn't THAT bad. Sending Schneids to Edmonton would have come back to bite the Canucks every time they had to play the Oilers, plus it would have been just CRUEL to Schneids hahahahahahaa!!
The Canucks got the 9th pick from a very deep draft PLUS 4 million dollars in cap space, and they're in a bit of a cap mess right now......
Who knows? Maybe Bo Horvarth knows hockey......

the deal was not a bad deal, it accomplished everything you mentioned.
the issue isn't the deal, its the handling of the entire situation. Who knows, BobbyLou still might want out.
