He was a Bruin forever, and because of that, he was able to read the room and management and determine that they weren't going to win a Stanley Cup anytime soon. So he signed with Colorado and BOOM! Here comes The Cup.

Alfie's a very smart guy. If he didn't think the Sens were going to give him close to market value and he felt that they didn't have an excellent chance at winning a cup this year, why would he waste his final year there? 20 years from now he wants to be remembered as that guy who won a Stanley Cup.
