Ladies and gentlemen, this is a very special presentation. The person that we are going to honour in this thread has been a fan of the Montreal Canadiens since most of us were even born. He's been there for the dynasties, he's seen the greatest, and he's built up his collection accordingly.

Why you think you are a supercollector: I have been collecting for 45 + years the Montreal Canadian. Never sold back any of my PC and been gathering cards in all those years to grow my PC. Now in the SCF inventory, we have 24,169 listing since I work hard to identify the cards from Montreal. I know we are missing some but Beckett list 25,679 cards so we are not far from them. I think that with 4,623 cards I should qualify as a team super collector.

while your requirement stop at 18,000 and require 25% of all cards, I believe Montreal is a team with such history and so many big name that it's really hard over more then 100 years to gather enough cards to fit your requirements. Now if you look at how many team super collector Hockey has (zero) it's speak about how high your requirement are high. Basketball have much lower requirement and does have entries. Now it has to be hard but after collecting for more then 45 years, it a life time achievement.
So many cards book so high that many can't be reach like in certain player collection. Also many get the title with 200 and some cards. For instance I collect Carey Price cards and never could go much over 20% because his cards are so costly and there keep making ton of card just from him. When you add in the mix player like Maurice Richard, Jean beliveau, Jacques plante, Guy Lafleur, Ken Dryden, some cards and more so for lower print run don't go for cheap. For instance in the basketball requirement they ask for $5000 BV or more. You can view their requirement here:
    https://www.sportscardforum.com/threa...rmation-Thread

Now I have $45,068.60 in BV for the 4,623 single cards only. I do have over 15,000 cards if I count the doubles. I do have a high percentage of rookies.

Here my stats from my SCF inventory

You'll note that at the time of the application, Luc's collection was sitting at just over 4,600 cards. Due to a tremendous level of determination and a hard push, his collection has now surpassed the 5,000 card plateau! This is an amazing achievement, the fruits of a lifelong labour of love.

Without any further ado, let's turn it over to our new Super Collector!

To start, I will show my latest hit that I pulled this week-end in the Montreal Fall Expo opening a ITG Decades the 1990s box. My first auto from Patrick Roy pack pulled, could not ask for a better card with a print run of 2 cards.

2013-14 ITG Decades 1990s Trophy Winners Jerseys Autographs Silver #TWJAPR Patrick Roy Att: AU, Mem, S# /2

Then I have to show this first ever ITG cut auto from Ken Dryden. Auto from Ken Dryden are rare because he refuse to sign for card company. The only time he did sign was for 1991-92 Future Trends Canada '72 LTD Autograph #85 Ken Dryden but so many fake and a rare card to find. The next card was issued in 2007 as the first big manufacturer pulled 1/1 auto. Thank to the member who accepted to sell this card to me.

2007-08 The Cup Gold Rainbow Autographed Rookie Patches #189 Carey Price Att: AU, Mem, S# /31

    My oldest notable Habs card:

A PSA 8 of the OPC Dryden RC not easy to find and not cheap.
    1971-72 O-Pee-Chee #45 Ken Dryden Att: RC

One of the most beautiful patch cards from Montreal, note that these are from the vintage Habs jersey worn in the 2008 Centennial season by Montreal and explain the green in one patch. Again these patches are rare one.

2010-11 Dominion Peerless Patches Quads #4 Andrei Markov / Carey Price / Max Pacioretty / Michael Cammalleri Att: Mem, S# /10

My first huge patch redemption I got from the rookie season of Carey Price

My best memorabilia card from Ken Dryden, got this in a group break from SCF.

Oldest goaltender memorabilia card I own:

2004-05 ITG Ultimate Memorabilia Day In History Gold #33 Doug Harvey/ Bill Durnan Att: Mem, S# /5

This is the only memorabilia card from Ken Dryden from a licence manufacturer. It was said that this card was not authorised and that Upper Deck had to call back boxes to remove these cards and repackage the rest. Not sure about this but I know this card is really rare and great to have in my PC.

And to finish, my oldest pulled habs cards that I still have today, I was only 7 years of age when I pulled this card. The oldest pack pulled was in 1967 when I started to collect. The card survived but with a bit of damage. I suspect it was place on the bicycle spoke to make noise, this was popular back in the 60's with kids.

Thank you to all members that help me in building this collection of Montreal Canadian. When I got back into collection in 2008 I started to collect Carey price but soon realize that with all the cards I have it was a better idea to open it up to all Habs cards.

I also wish to thank Mike Silvia, SCF owner to have believed in me for coding the SCF Inventory.

I have over 5600 traders (insert, rookie, serial, memorabilia and auto) and close to 100,000 cards. In my SCF inventory, I am up to 31,537 unique cards with a $90,103.84 in BV for the unique cards. With doubles I am now with 67,277 cards entered in the SCF Inventory. Without this tool It would have been hard to keep track of a want list for Habs. This spring I work hard to identify all Habs cards in the card database and flag the team attribute. This then let me create a want list that is always up to date of all Habs cards I don't have. Currently my want list contain 19,375 cards. So the inventory provide me with a live want list:

I also have a images album of my collection provided by the SCF inventory, just a bit of stats on the images, I have 5,712 images scanned from my traders section and in the PC section I have 5,231 cards with images so close to 11,000 images. Here some of the best cards of my collection. Note that I tend to get higher end cards from goaltender.

    Thanks for all these trades!

Congrats on the very well deserved honor! I can't imagine what all the cards look like together.

Basically fill up a room and I don't really show much as the collection is in 10 3200 count box and all cards in top loader. I have a show horizontal display case and one vertical display case and the rest on the wall, for what is left are mainly the autograph pictures and some various object. I would need a second room really to display the best cards.

really took many years to get them all in alphabetic order but when you have 100,000 cards and 65,000 cards in the inventory, if they were not sorted I would never find the cards. This is also why now I can pull so many trade. Took me 2 hours the other day to pull 222 cards and only could not find one of the cards. That does help to make deals and free you up for more deal. In three days this week-end I was able to pull 13 trades. Thanks to all these years I spent organizing then cards and entering them into the inventory.

Also the tools I added (pre-trade tool), this is making my inventory so much more accurate and easier to trade as you can keep a list for trade in the work and keep playing with it adding and removing cards until you are ready to use this tool to create the trade and then use it to add incoming cards and remove outgoing cards. Before I coded this new tool I kept forgetting adding or removing cards. The lead me to trade for cards I already had or cards I did not have to send away. So it does pay off as now I even move base cards. The 222 cards deal more then half were all base cards and total deal was over 300 BV. I get 41 cards in return. So I could not land these type of deals before. That is where it finally pay off and help other collectors to fill in whole in their team or player collection.

Just realize I have added many cards since I submitted my application. I said in my application I had 4,623 cards and now I am at 5,254. This mean I added 631 cards since. I had set a new goal to reach $50,000 in BV and I guess this will come sooner then I tought, only need 441.80$ in BV to reach it,

Montreal Canadiens's statistics from your inventory

Type Have/Total Percentage Total Book Value
    All cards: 5254/24699 21.3% $49,558.20
    Rookie: 390/848 46.0% $6,112.15
    Autograph: 244/2972 8.2% $17,591.00
