    Heroes and Prospects Discussion Thread

I would like to try something new on Sportscard Forum.

Although I don't visit the forum daily, I will try to do so.

So if you have any questions about 2013-14 Heroes and Prospects 10th Anniversary, I will be here to answer them and provide updated information on the product.

If this works out well, I will try to do the same for our future releases; StickWork, In The Game-Used, Between The Pipes, Lord Stanley's Mug and 2014 Draft Prospects.

    Brian Price.

This sounds like a great way to engage the SCF Community!

I like the inclusion of the 10th anniversary cards that feature the 2004-05 design; will the memorabilia subset honouring the 10 years of H&P also feature those stars in their respective years' designs?

It would be great to get those player that made it big in NHL with their design from those year but with a 10th anniversary logo on them. Not sure how much work would this represent but it would be a way to make big name of the past ten years and would make the product very attractive. A bit like decades showed the best player from the decade in question. I am sure they would be popular with player collectors and could potentially make the sales even better.

Another question, this one about player selection for things like autographs and memorabilia:

When it comes to obtaining content for a product like H&P, do you send out a blanket request to each team in the hopes of getting as many players as possible, or do you "target" specific players from the teams? I was looking through the checklists and there's not too much for Kelowna Rockets stuff this year, with autos from Madison Bowey and Rourke Chartier, and memorabilia featuring Chartier and also a nameplate for goalie Jordon Cooke. With the team having a potential late first/early second round pick in Tyson Baillie and some popular guys like Myles Bell, Damon Severson, etc., there's some good prospects brewing here in Kelowna. Is it just a matter of some teams being more restrictive than others when it comes to contributing to these products? (This is as much a question I have for the Rockets organization as anything, their PR team isn't the greatest)

Remember there are 60 different teams and the CHL would like us to try and represent them as equally as possible. So if the autograph checklist is 108 players, then you have around 1.5 players average per team regardless of how talented the team is.

When it comes to game-used jerseys, it is not easy to acquire them. Most of the teams only do two sets and they are usually only available for the team's fan base.

So when it comes to game-used jerseys, we send the CHL our list and we get what we get. Over the last years we have been lucky to get jerseys for the league's best players.

    Hope this answers your questions.

Remember to do the players in their past designs would require us to have rights to those players. For many players that is difficult once they enter the NHL.

So we are limited in what we can and can't do.

The 3D cards last year looked great - I think the Class of 2014 cards are 3D this year.... are any others?

    30Randfordfan;

Only the 49 Class of 2014 are 3D cards, the same as last year. There are no others in this product.

Absolutely - I know that the Rockets have always been pretty tight with their stuff so anything you can get into your products I'm happy with.

As you're now into the product's 10th season (and always improving!) have you and the team considered doing a "generations" type subset featuring past and present players from an organization? It can be a challenge keeping some of that inventory for so long, but when you look at some of the stronger teams in the CHL it could be a great opportunity for long-time fans of a club to have that type of a card produced.

    I got two question...

Will the 10th Anniversary will be the only non memorabilia insert set

And why 199 card in the base set.... Same as last year don't understand why you didn't but this one to 200...

Thanks for another great year of H&P
