Cup Chase has the interesting distinction of being the first 2015 product in the Press Pass line. Typically, it is the basic Press Pass release in December that starts the new collecting year. In previous years, collectors have seen products such as Legends and Five Star during this part of the season. Cup Chase is reminiscent to the summer release, Redline, somewhat in design and yield. However, there is a bigger focus on the bigger names in the sport in Cup Chase. The base set contains 100 cards and features drivers from the top three levels (Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Craftsman Truck). Subsets include Headliners and Over The Wall. Headliners feature various drivers, but the card is geared towards showcasing individual helmets. Pit Crews get their due with Over The Wall. There are four parallel levels for each card and appear one per pack (Gold /75, Blue /25, Green /10, Melting /1).

There's only one insert set and it appears once per box. This is a tribute set dedicated to the late Dale Earnhardt. It brings to question if there is a need for it. Many of these have appeared through the years. Perhaps it's the idea that the product is centered around winning the Cup Championship and Earnhardt was one of the best in that department.

Each pack of Cup Chase will yield either a relic or and autograph. There breakdown should be three autos and two memorabilia pieces. None of the cards will be high numbered, except for an unnumbered version of Press Pass Signings. There are a multitude of sets and parallel versions that will appear.

    Autographs:
Press Pass Signings (on card Autograph with five levels)
Upper Cuts (Autograph Patch Booklet numbered to 1)
Signature Series (Autograph Memorabilia with four levels)
Four Wide SE (Autograph Relic with four swatches and four levels)
Championship Caliber SE (Autograph Memorabilia with four levels)
Pit Road Pieces SE (Autograph Relic with three swatches and four levels - Bill and Chase Elliott Dual Versions available as well)

    Memorabilia:
Burning Rubber (Race used Tires from winning races with four levels)
Burning Rubber Letterman (Oversized tire swatches spelling out manufacturer)
Cup Chase Cuts (Dual Relic with four levels)
Three Wide (Triple Relic with four levels)
Championship Caliber (Race Used Memorabilia containing between one to four swatches)
Pit Road Pieces (Three swatches from Pit Road with four levels)

    FINAL THOUGHTS

    Base - 4/5
    Design - 4.25/5
    Value - 5/5
    Fun - 4.5/5
    Rebuy - 4.5/5

    Overall - 22.25/25 (89%)
