Help, should I sell my 91/92 Brett Hull AU 2500 or keep?

So I have a ton of 90's upper deck cards, all of which are basically worthless as everyone knows. But there's one card I have that is actually worth something. It's a 91-92 Brett Hull auto, limited to 2500. I found this card buried away about 5 years ago. Back then it was selling on ebay for around $50 or so. A few days ago I checked ebay again and I saw a couple had sold for about $200 each. So I thought what the hell, and I listed mine for sale. It's got 5 days left in auction but now I am having second thoughts.

Does anyone think I should keep it, will it go up in value more? If it's gone up from $50 to $200 in 5 years then I would think it might go even higher in coming years? I think what is driving the value of this card is that it was the very first autographed hockey card to be inserted into decks by Upper Deck. Back then as we all know they flooded the market with cards, so this was the one rare shining card back then.

Bottom line... sell now for about $200 (probably what the auction ends at) or keep for another 5 years?

Good point. Guy was an a-hole IMO. Chose USA over Canada in the Olympics even though he was born in Ontario, grew up in Vancouver, played for Penticton and was drafted by the Calgary Flames. So no, I have no attachment to it.

I think you should sell it and buy something that you'd actually like to hold on to. I couldn't see the value skyrocketing so much that it leaves regretting it forever (after all, we just collect cardboard, so we can eventually get over a "bad deal").

So if you can get $200, I think that's a solid deal. Take the money and buy a card you can hang onto forever, no matter the future value.

What are you talking about? Lol. He didn't choose USA over Canada, Team Canada passed on him in 86'. He had dual citizenship and was playing college hockey at the time in Minnesota, so he decided to play for the Americans. He even said he didn't feel like more of an American than a Canadian, he just wanted to play.
PMs work best. I don't always go back and check threads I've posted in

    That's not the whole story.

Brett Hull was always an arrogant guy from the start of his career, and he proved it time and time again. In 1986, he wanted to play for team Canada at the IIHF world cup. The coach chose to go with experienced NHL players instead (Brett Hull wasn't an NHL player then). So what did Brett Hull do? He joined Team USA, and then spent the next 16 years playing for them trying to make "Canada pay" for turning him away. He could have just played for team Canada, but he held a grudge all those years. It was nothing to do with loyalty, it was everything to do with him not wanting to wait his turn to play in the world cup and pay his dues. He was like that his whole career. A lazy player, never back checking, never doing the hard work, poor worth ethic in general, not a team player, etc. He has said time and time again how much he "hates hockey" and how he never even wanted to play in the NHL. Don't think that his decision to not play for Canada was Canada's fault. Again, he should never have been offered the 1986 spot. It would be like saying that it was the Quebec Nordiques fault for drafting Eric Lindros because he warned them ahead of time he would never play for them.

..... uh....... wait........ I mean, he's awesome! Best player since Grets!!! one of a kind!.... so who wants to buy a card? :D
