    RADM.David S. Bill III

RADM.David S. Bill III served in the United States Navy from 1966-1998. He took part in well over 100 combat missions during the Vietnam War earning many medals along the way. He was the captain of the USS Wisconsin during Operation Desert Storm.

During the war, the Wisconsin fired more than 1,000,000 pounds of bullets and missiles at enemy targets. One thing that really stands out, is that at one point during the war, a group of Iraqi soldiers surrendered to an unmanned drone that was being operated by people onboard the ship!

RADM.Bill took part in 150 combat patrols along the Mekong Delta on river boats during the war in Vietnam. During the time, he was injured and received a purple heart.

I sent a Mikhail Gorbachev Desert Storm card to the Gorbachev Foundation Of North America back in 2012 or 2013, long before I ever started my Desert Storm PC. I received a package of notepads, a pin, flyers and other things along with a letter from his executive assistant thanking me for writing and she said that he was living in Moscow and gave me the address to his foundation over there. I never received my card back and later learned from some of my Russian friends that he had moved to Germany or something like that so I kind of gave up on him. Hopefully he's signing now and I can get his someday.

    Thanks for the heads up!

One of my favorite parts about my Desert Storm collection, is that many of the guys have wrote me notes/short letters too! It makes the collection even more meaningful.
