Today, went to an appearance by former Chicago White Sox player and manager of the 2005 World Series Championship team, Ozzie Guillen, at a food store in Bensenville, IL. Ozzie signed 9 cards and 1 World Series 8x10, which he inscribed 2005 WSC, for me and my family, for free.

Nice one Ethan I guess you already have him on the 87 T since it was not one of the cards shown.
I think he is one I still need on the 87 T
Wish they had some appearances like that by us other then the ones they have in North Jersey by NYC.

Yes, I already have him on an 87 Topps, and I would have gotten another one done, but I couldn't find any unsigned ones in my stashes! It's tough when you aren't super close to a major city. I grew up in north New Jersey, actually

Today, I went to an appearance by former Chicago White Sox 3rd baseman and member of the 2005 World Series Championship team, Joe Crede, at a liquor store in Oak Lawn, IL. Mr. Crede signed 5 cards for me, for free.

This evening, I went to the Frontier League baseball game between the Schaumburg Boomers and the Washington Wild Things. Not too many of the players have cards, but I was able to get two cards signed by former Seattle outfield prospect Jamal Austin, now with the Washington Wild Things, two cards signed by former Minnesota infield prospect Bryan Haar, now with the Washington Wild Things, and 4 cards signed by current Wild Things hitting coach, and former Los Angeles Dodgers star Mike Marshall.

Today I went to the grand opening celebration for Bob's Discount Furniture in Schaumburg, IL. They opened 3 stores in IL and IN this week, and at each store, there are two former Chicago Bears players. I was able to get 1 autograph on a card from former offensive lineman James "Big Cat" Williams, and 2 autos on cards from former cornerback Nathan Vasher, for free. Frankly, I was going to skip it, as I didn't need either player, but my kids seem to love Bob's, mostly because there is free ice cream, candy, t-shirts, pens, balloon artists, etc.

Yesterday, I went to the Milwaukee Brewers game at Miller Park, where it was Kids Autograph Saturday. The Brewers do this 4 or 5 times a year now, and when the gates open, a handful of players are on the field and will sign autographs for kids 14 and under for 20 minutes. They don't announce the names in advance, but when I got in with my daughter, there were 5 stations. I didn't think we would get through too many lines, so I went to the line for Blaine Boyer and Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who were together at one station. I was able to get 1 auto on a card from Boyer, and two autos on cards from Nieuwenhuis. Then, I went to the line next to us, which stretched up to the concourse, and my daughter was able to get one card signed by Chris Carter, before they closed everything down. Other players signing were Zach Davies, Alex Presley, and Jonathan Villar, so really not the biggest names, but still cool to get.

This evening, I went to an appearance by former Chicago Bears wide receiver and current radio host Tom Waddle at a local food store. Tom was an hour late, trying to get from his radio show in the city to the northern suburbs at rush hour, but was, as usual, friendly, chatty, and willing to sign whatever you wanted. I was able to get two cards signed, and 2 8x10's signed (one for @rtsjr), for free. I had him inscribe my 8x10 with 2109 yards and 9 touchdowns, and he stated he was embarrassed by his measly stats! He jokes on the radio a lot about his 9 total receiving touchdowns, so I figured why not.

Yesterday, I went to the Kane County Cougars (Arizona Diamondbacks Class A) versus the Clinton Lumberkings game in Geneva, IL. I was able to get 5 autographs on cards from pitching prospect Ryan Burr, 3 autos on cards from pitching coach Rich Sauveur, 1 autograph on a card from outfield prospect Gerard Hernandez, 2 autos on cards from infield prospect Joe Munoz, 3 autos on cards from infield prospect Trevor Mitsui, 1 autograph on a card from infield prospect Fernery Ozuna, 2 autographs on cards from outfield prospect Quinnton Mack, 2 autographs on cards from outfield prospect Jason Morozowski, 2 autographs on cards from outfield prospect Zach Nehrir, and 5 autographs on cards from catching prospect Jose Queliz. Also, a couple of members of the Chicago Bandits, the local National Pro Fastpitch softball team, were in attendance and signing autographs, so I bought a cheap softball before the game, and got an autograph from Brenna Moss and Natalie Hernandez on the ball.

    Total of 28 autographs.
