The NHL announced on Wednesday that former Canadiens defenceman Jarred Tinordi — now with the Arizona Coyotes — has been suspended for 20 games for performance-enhancing substance abuse.

Tinordi will not be paid during the suspension after violating the terms of
the NHL/NHLPA Performance Enhancing Substances Program. As part of the collective-bargaining agreement, Tinordi now faces mandatory referral to the NHL/NHLPA Program for Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health for evaluation and possible treatment.
