    2016 MLB Contest

The MLB contest is back for the 2016 season. This year's contest will be bigger and better than last year with more categories in the statistics and the possibility to earn more points.

I have decided to add more categories to really test your knowledge.

    Part One:
The first part of the contest will involve picking the standings of each division. The scoring will be on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis with an extra 5 points for correctly guessing the right order
    Example:
If this had been done last year, and you had predicted this for the NL West, you would get the following number of points:
    Los Angeles-5 points
    Colorado-0
    San Diego-3
    San Francisco-0
    Arizona- 1

You will do this for each division in baseball - both NL and AL. There is a maximum of 120 possible points.

    Part Two:
This part of the contest will involve picking the stat leaders for each league, in the following 20 categories.

    HITTING- BOTH AL & NL
    HR's
    BA
    RBI
    SB
    Runs
    Hits
    SLG %
    Doubles
    Triples
    WAR- Wins above Replacement

    PITCHING AL & NL
    Wins
    Losses
    Strikeouts
    IP
    Saves
    Blown SV's

    ERA
    CG
    WHIP
    WAR

You will also predict the actual number (i.e. # of HRs, Runs, Strikeouts, batting average, etc) for each stat. You will get 2 points for each player you get correct, and an additional 2 points if you get the stat exactly right. You are only eligible for the additional points if you get the leader right. For example, if Pujols leads with 40 HRs, and you guess Donaldson (40 HRs), then you get 0 points, even though you got the stat correct.
There are a total of 80 points available for this part of the contest.

    Section Three: Playoff Teams
Predict the Division winners and Wild Card Teams as well as the winners of the wild card, LDS, LCS AND WORLD SERIES. Here is an example and no these are not my predictions. You will get two points for each correct guess and a bonus point for correctly guessing the playoff teams and an extra five points for correctly guessing the playoff results

    AL:
Division Winners: New York, Detroit and Oakland
    Wild Card: Boston and Anaheim
    Wild Card Game winner: Boston
ALDS: New York over Oakland and Detroit over Boston
    ALCS: Detroit over New York

    NL:
Division Winners: Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles
Wild Card: New York and St. Louis
    Wild Card winner: New York
NLDS: Atlanta over Pittsburgh and Los Angeles over New York
    NLCS: Los Angeles over Atlanta

World Series: Los Angeles over Detroit

The second new one is the Post Season Award winners. Predict the Top 3 finishers for each category in the correct order. you get one point for each correct guess and an extra three points for guessing the correct order per category
    Manager of the Year

I have prizes picked for first to third just waiting for approval. Also, on a personal note, I would like to apologize for last year's fiasco at the end of the season. Things happened that were out of my control and was off the site for a while. It will not happen this year and I take full responsibility for everything.

My main collection goal right now is to get rid of all my unwanted low end cards in an attempt to downsize. If you want to help me with that, let me know! I'd like the cards to go to a good home such as charity, the younger generation of collectors, or aspiring team collectors that want to build their team PC.

Is there a reason why I can't access the 2015 MLB contest thread? It says I don't have permission?
