2016 Topps Finest Baseball Hobby Box for review

    Configuration:
    1 box (2 mini boxes)
    12 packs per box
    5 cards per box

Current Retail Price (online): $95 to 125 a box

First and foremost, I'd like to thank our sponsors at Topps for providing us with this box.

This years Finest delivers a very bold design on a nice chrome stock. Looking at the front of the mini boxes one can assume that Finest is honoring the career of Ken Griffey Jr. The base set consists of 100 cards containing rookies and veterans. The base set has a slew of parallels which can be found in the various forms:
    Refractor
    Prism
    Purple (#'ed to 250)
    Blue (#'ed to 150)
    Green (#'ed to 100)
    Gold ((#'ed to 50)
    Orange (/25)
    Red (/5)
    Superfractor (1/1)

The inserts continue to be bold in design with some fancy artwork. The inserts are:
Finest Careers -these are a die-cut case hit. They commemorate the career of Ken Griffey Jr. Parallels. They have parallel versions including Orange (#'ed to 25), Red (#'ed to 5) and Superfractor (1/1)

Franchise Finest -features a top player from each team. This is a new insert.

1996 Finest Intimidators-an insert from 20 years ago is brought back to feature current and retired players.

Finest Firsts -highlights players appearing in their first Finest set.

Many folks claim to love hard signed autographs and Finest delivers. The cards definitely look nicer when there's no sticker on the card. The past few years Finest autographs have leaned toward focusing on rookies. This time around Finest autographs lean more toward veterans and retired players. The following autographs cards in Finest consist of:

Finest Firsts AutographDebut auto's of rookies. The auto's have the following
    Blue Refractor (#'d)
    Green Refractor (#'d)
    Gold Refractor (#'d)
    Orange Refractor (#/25)
    Red Refractor (#/5)
    SuperFractor (1/1)
    & Printing Plates (1/1)

Finest Greats-features retired great autographs that are seeded as case hits.
    Gold Refractor (#'ed to 50)
    Orange Refractor (#'ed to 25)
    Red Refractor (#'ed to 5)
    SuperFractor (1/1)
    Printing Plates (1/1)

Finest Originals Autographs- - these are buybacks from past Finest products with on card autographs.

    What we pulled:
    2 autographs

    Inserts (4) 1 gold, 1 blue, and 2 purple:

1 Finest first moment Henry Owens

    Intimidators (3):

    Franchise Finest (4):

    4 prism refractor
42 base cards with no dupes (11 being rc's)

Stated odds and NPN (no purchase necessary)

    THOUGHTS

    Base - 4/5
    Design - 4.5/5
    Fun - 4.5/5
    Value - 4/5
    Rebuy - 4/5
    Overall - 21/25 (84%)

Once again, I'd like to thank our wonderful sponsors at Topps for giving us the opportunity to open and review this release. For more information on all of their products, visit them today at www.topps.com

    @SFGiants

Best bet would be to get some cc and purchase It from the cc store in the near future. Most of the numbered cards end up there.
