2016 Topps Archives Baseball Hobby Box for review

2016 Topps Archives Baseball Hobby Box

    Product configuration
    24 packs per box
    8 cards per pack
    2 autographs per box

Current Retail Price (online): $75 to $87 a box

First and foremost, I'd like to thank our sponsors at Topps for providing us with this box.

Topps Archives delves yet again into the history using Topps cards from the past. This year's base set includes designs from 1953, 1979, and 1991. The base cards use each of the three designs in the base set that is composed of 310 cards. The last 10 cards of the base set are short prints. Base cards have four parallels, all of which are serial numbered as followed:
    Blue #'ed to 199
    Red #'ed to 50
    Black (1/1)
    Printing Plates

A few of the inserts focus on the two years being 1985 and 1969. The Father & Son showcases MLB familial connections through the years while the #1 Draft Picks highlights some of the first overall picks. The last insert set focuses on the year 1969. The Topps Super inserts bring back the rounded corners. Inserts have numbered parallels in Red #'ed to 50, Black (1/1) and Printing Plates. Select Supers also have autographed versions.

The biggest insert is the Bull Durham set that is included in this years Topps Archives. With top autographs from Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon these will definitely add a great hit for those lucky to pull one.

Last but not least the meat"and potatoes is the Topps Fan Favorite Autographs. They are signed on-card which many collectors claim to love. Like the base set they use past designs and come in the following parallels:
    Blue #'ed to 150
    Red #'ed to 50
    Black (1/1)

Also, the Topps Original autographs are buybacks that are hard signed and have a low number for a truly great hit.
