    Total Hockey retailer files for bankruptcy, selling chain

    Total Hockey, the fast-growing Maryland Heights-based hockey and lacrosse retailer, has filed for bankruptcy protection in a move that may lead to a sale of the company.

    The 32-store chain, founded in 1999, filed for Chapter 11 Wednesday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, with estimated liabilities of $50 million to $100 million, including $32 million in unsecured debt, and assets of $10 million to $50 million.
