For more details on 2015-16 Portfolio, check out the Upper Deck Blog: http://upperdeckblog.com/2016/07/sle...year-and-next/

The blog post says there will be "exchange cards for “XRC” cards featuring members of the 2016-17 NHL® rookie class including some of the hottest carryover rookies like Toronto Maple Leafs standout William Nylander."

    In addition:
Matt Murray got his autographed cards back just in time for the packout, so this product will be the first to have live Murray auto rookies.
All autographed content will be live. Zero redemptions.

If these exchange cards are for players who played in the NHL in 2015-16, why would they not be considered rookie cards? They are NHL licensed from the year the player debuted in the NHL and feature them in their NHL jersey, do they not?

Looks good. Is there a price point for this? With only 2 hits it shouldn't be too expensive. Should be a nice base set to collect.

They debuted after the official cutoff date for 2015-16 rookies, so they would be the "hold over" players for 2016-17. It's similar to what UD has done in the past with releases like 2012-13 Artifacts, which contained rookie redemptions for players who would have their "true RC" year in 2013-14, but those cards were for players like Brendan Gallagher who made his NHL debut in the lockout shortened 2013 campaign. I'm not a huge fan of the XRC concept, but it's a nice way to generate early hype for the new rookie class.

To me this could be the product of the year. I absolutely love it and will be breaking a few cases for sure :)

That Larkin Auto picturing him practicing from the outdoor game vs the Avs looks pretty cool, will probably pick up one of those even if it is a sticker. Other than that I don't have very much interest in this set but I haven't had much interest in anything UD put out this season with the presses pumping out as much as they can print.
