Vesey worth the hype?
Lot of talk in the Boston area. Many wanted the B's to
make a big push for Vesey. Baker award winners do not
have a great track record in the NHL

He may very well end up being a good player.... possibly even a star.
Last two Hobey Baker winners have done okay for themselves (Jack Eichel, Johnny Gaudreau) and there's been several other bigger names to win it (Karyia, Ryan Miller, Chris Drury) but you're right... there's lots of guys that won this trophy and had less than spectacular NHL careers.
I think part of the problem for winners like Vesey is that you're watching a 23 year old dominate (as-young-as) 20 year olds, for 32 games. They look great doing it, but that doesn't mean it translates into NHL success.
Is he the next Johnny Gaudreau?? Or is he the next Matt Gilroy? Probably somewhere in between.... I'm banking on him being a steady NHLer, just not a spectacular one - and certainly not worth the hype he received.

I don't always agree with Brian Burke, but I like his assessment...
