The New York Islanders moving to Hartford Connecticut?
http://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2017/...nnecticut.html
In an interesting twist involving the future of the New York Islanders, the city of Hartford, formerly the home of the NHL’s Whalers, has offered the team the use of the XL Center as an “interim” home, according to local news station WFSB. Hartford has been without the NHL since 1997 when the Whalers left town and became the Carolina Hurricanes.
Ultimately, the Islanders are unlikely to take Connecticut up on their offer. The team’s owners have indicated their desire to remain in the New York market and a move to Hartford would probably not get the backing of Gary Bettman and the league’s other owners. But, with renovations to XL Center underway, Hartford could join Quebec City as a potential expansion or relocation candidate in the future.

Saw this story earlier on another site. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Islanders, both next year and beyond.

New York must be really screwed up for any team to consider going to Hartford of all places. Aren't they STILL working on that minor league baseball team stadium? lol

Didn't the Islanders move from Long Island to Brooklyn only 2 seasons ago? Now possibly Hartford? So what, in 5 years we hear about how the Islanders are moving to Rochester? Buffalo? Rhode Island? This team needs to decide on a location to call home already!
Always looking for Senators cards! Must be a draft pick, or the card is identifiable as a Senators card before I want it!
Until further notice, I ship on Mondays. Only day off, so only chance to get to the Post Office.

XL Center seats 14750 for Hockey which is only about 500 shy of Barclays Center. The City is also deciding on whether to do new renovations to the building or even build a new building.
Brooklyn is on Long Island, the Islanders moved under 30 miles from Nassau County to Brooklyn. Besides only moving to Barclays when the attempts to get a new building in Nassau fell through they were, and still are, also looking at building their own building in Brooklyn designed for Hockey or possibly one in Queens.PC Players: Hidden Content , Hidden Content , Hidden Content , Hidden Content & Hidden Content

The Five Boroughs of New York, are Manhattan an Island of its own. The Bronx is the only Borough that is connected to the Mainland. Staten Island is the Third, lowest in population and population density of the Five Boroughs. Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island. Brooklyn being the western most part of the Island and Queens the next part heading east followed by Nassau County which is the County just outside New York City.
