Oh, ok, Jordie Benn makes more sense. When i first read this I thought it was Jamie Benn. I was stunned but now that i see that its the other Benn I'm ok with that. Being a Leafs fan i luv nothing more than seeing the Habs lose. I grew up in a house with all Habs fans so i have no luv for the Habs. I'm glad to see that it was not Jamie Benn. Sorry Habs fans, you get the far less talented Benn...

Wouldn't expect Jamie Benn's jock for that package. But this is a decent deal. Not one that puts them over the top or anything, but a decent defender with term left on his deal at a very reasonable salary.

Jordie Benn is a solid D-man and a definite upgrade from Pateryn. At least the Habs didn't go after the big dark cloud from Tampa's dressing room. Steve Yzerman must be dancing a jig that someone was willing to take him off their hands.

Oh, I wouldn't have posted if it weren't for the click-bait title TSN gave their article :)
I saw the headline and though "WHAT?!?!" lol

Happy with the move. Pateryn is one of those serviceable guys in a roster that fills a space when needed. He doesn't put up much for numbers, but he doesn't allow many numbers against. I wish him well.
Jordie Benn looks to be pretty similar in that regard. He's got good size: 6'2", 200lbs. and will hopefully bolster the Habs on the left side. They need that. This isn't a rental. He's got two more years on his deal so Bergevin must like what he sees in him to make that type of commitment.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
