You can credit 2016 Donruss Baseball with ushering in the Optic era. That was the first time Panini America officials set out to create an all-Optichrome version of the company’s previously released flagship Donruss brand, complete with a rainbow array of parallel possibilities, chase-worthy ink, and key photo updates and checklist additions. So well received was 2016 Donruss Optic Baseball last summer that 2016 Donruss Optic Football followed suit in late December. Next week, Donruss Basketball gets its turn to shine under the Optichrome spotlight.

So basically a Topps Chrome version of Donruss. Hmmm. Not sure how collectors will take to that. We already have Prizm. Then again, Bowman and Bowman Chrome did decently when Topps Chrome was also out. Maybe Panini is hoping this will be like that for them.

I bought a hanger box of them and once I found out it was a cheap knockoff of another product they made I wasn't too happy about it.
