Lost a Lost for than a dear friend last night to cancer
He was a teacher, mentor, another dad.
I've known the man for 35 yrs!!!
He was my choir teacher in jr high and high school & vocal coach through jr high, high school, college.
He fought Sarcoma since 2002 and found out via Facebook he died. I believe he was 66.
Don't take life for granted.
Life will never be the same.
Some people may not understand why I have such strong emotions for a teacher, but I'm sure some have a role model of some sort they look up to. Cherish every moment you can!!!
Sorry had to vent a little.

So true why you should always do what you want today as you never might get another shot. Glad he had a impact you as that a teacher, mentor, dad etc. The world would be a much better place if all kids had a mentor to look up too. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Interview from the teacher about his cancer battle.
Must watch.
If you take the time to watch, don't stop at the credits.
He added a little sports humor at the end(Chicago fan).
Keep in mind... interview was about 3 yrs agoLast edited by tjmcb73; 04-11-2017 at 03:21 AM.

Stress of the weekend was to the max!!!
We made plans to attend the gathering Sat.
So-called friend & I went to Minnesota/OKC game Tues and he offers to drive us there and back(one-day trip).
After leaving about 15 texts, few PMs, and a few calls...NOT A SINGLE REPLY!!
I worked 12p-9p on Fri.
Wife said if you don't find anyone before work, forget it.
Before work, I packed a bag in case I found someone & told her to do the same.
As of 9pm, I hadn't found anyone. However, I figured since bus wasn't leaving til 6:40am and we're 70 miles away from station, we could leave as late as 4am and still make it. So I didn't give up.
I was walking home(a 2-mile hike)and got about 2/3 mile before a vehicle on the other side of highway stopped and someone yelled "Want a ride home?" I accepted offer and they asked how life was(friends from church). I told them about the loss, but we're having difficulty finding ride. They looked at each other then the wife looked at me and winked, "Can you be ready in 15?"
I was overjoyed!!
I went in to tell my wife, but she had already taken her sleep meds & never packed so I went alone.
We got to the station at 11:30p(keep in mind...6:40am bus).
Security asked where I was going & then informs me the terminal closes from 1a-4:30a!!!
So I'm sitting outside in the pouring rain in downtown Minneapolis!!!!
Not only did I witness a 3-car accident(1 almost flipped) less than a block away, but also saw a fight involving knives and guns!! Nothing fired thank God!!
Former co-worker said he could pick me at station and bring me home since he was nearby today(scheduled to return at 4:30pm).
Service was very emotional. 2 of my closest friends( 1 has a record deal, other very close classmate) and I sang several songs. Tears galore!!
I wake up this morning to a Facebook message from co-worker that he can't get me cuz he had Easter dinner at 4pm!!!
Par for the course!!!
Bus was schedule to depart at 2:40 and nobody offered to pick me up as of 2:15.
So my mother said she drive all the way since I had no more medicine with(seizures).
Another former co-worker called and said she would meet us on the other side of Minneapolis(Ridgedale Center if you're familiar with MN).
On her way to meeting us, she called again and said something happened to her car!!
Can't remember exactly what, but she stopped at gas station to keep it together with duct tape til we got to her place to get different vehicle!!
Finally got home about 6:30p
WKND FROM HELL IS OVER!!!
UGH!!

Things occur in 3s.
A wk later, my wife uncle died from pneumonia and mistreated bladder infection.
I found out on Sun that my uncle was diagnosed with esophageal cancer.
In the midst of this, I was in ER with convulsions!!
